Your role at a glance
This role combines billing operations with advanced revenue accounting under IFRS 15 / ASC 606, ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition.
It covers contract review, NRC and recurring revenue accounting, and full month-end close and reconciliation activities.
The position ensures data integrity, billing accuracy, and strong internal controls, including audit support.
It drives process improvements, standardisation, and automation across global revenue and billing processes.
Strong analytical skills, system expertise, and close collaboration with Finance, Sales, IT, and other stakeholders are essential.

Specialist, Billing (Senior Revenue Accounting)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform end-to-end revenue accounting activities in accordance with IFRS 15, ASC 606 and applicable local GAAP requirements.
- Implement and oversee billing operations to maximize effectiveness, accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Review and assess customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
- Account for Non-Recurring Charges (NRC), recurring revenues and multi-element arrangements.
- Ensure accurate identification and allocation of transaction prices across performance obligations.
- Prepare, maintain and review revenue recognition schedules and supporting documentation.
- Perform month-end and year-end revenue accounting activities, including accruals, deferrals, provisions and revenue adjustments.
- Reconcile revenue-related balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Validate billing transactions and revenue postings within billing and financial systems.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, corporate governance requirements and external reporting obligations.
- Audit the integrity and accuracy of data entered into billing and financial systems.
- Monitor the operation of billing and revenue accounting systems and recommend process improvements.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of solutions for billing and revenue accounting issues.
- Work with system design, finance and IT teams to implement new features, system enhancements and automation opportunities.
- Drive the implementation of new billing systems and the integration of changes to existing billing and revenue accounting platforms.
- Partner with Sales, Commercial Finance, Legal, Contract Management and Operations teams to ensure accurate revenue treatment.
- Review new products, services and commercial offerings to determine accounting and revenue recognition implications.
- Drive revenue streamlining initiatives to standardize, simplify and automate revenue accounting processes globally.
- Prepare financial, statistical and management reports, including revenue analytics and trend analysis.
- Investigate and analyze billing, collection and revenue-related matters raised by management.
- Supply monthly revenue and billing reporting packs for relevant stakeholders and management teams.
- Process and review new billing files, failed billing files and associated revenue impacts.
- Provide technical support to billing and finance teams and operate billing and revenue accounting systems.
- Coordinate with various internal groups to resolve current issues and document billing and revenue accounting system enhancement requests.
- Monitor and correct data incongruences that could directly impact billing accuracy, revenue recognition and financial reporting.
- Ensure system-wide reconciliations, revenue assurance checks and audit controls are carried out accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform a variety of analytical functions including the review and management of large data sets to ensure revenue and billing accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
- Assist with continuous process improvement projects related to revenue accounting controls, quality, efficiency and automation opportunities.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations and explanations related to revenue accounting and billing processes.
- Identify, assess and mitigate revenue accounting risks while ensuring compliance with global accounting standards and company policies.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA or equivalent) preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience in Revenue Accounting, Revenue Recognition and Financial Reporting.
- Proven experience with NRC accounting, recurring revenue streams and complex customer contract structures.
- Extensive experience applying IFRS 15, ASC 606 and/or other relevant accounting standards.
- Experience performing month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits.
- Proven experience working with internal and external stakeholders across multiple business functions.
- Extensive experience auditing processes, financial information and systems.
- Hands-on experience with billing applications, revenue accounting systems and ERP platforms.
- Experience with ERP solutions such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or equivalent.
- Advanced experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience analyzing large datasets.
- Experience driving process standardization, automation and transformation initiatives.
- Experience working in multinational organizations and global finance environments.

Compensation Pay Range
"This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device.
NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $99,000.00 - $129,000.00.
All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
