Hours: 40 hours a week & every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday)

About the role:

Are you an experienced Independent Prescribing Pharmacist/Nurse looking for an opportunity to make a real difference? We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our Boots Online Doctor team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake online consultations and prescribe when appropriate
• Clinically review and authorise private prescriptions, including controlled drug prescriptions where legally clinically appropriate.
• Follow our strict guidelines for prescribing
• Use our secure IT platform for all patient interactions
• Act as the Responsible Pharmacist for a dispensary during designated operating periods, meeting all statutory obligations under pharmacy legislation
• Monitor controlled drug prescribing and dispensing activity, identifying trends, risks or governance concerns and implementing mitigating actions where required.
• Ensure medicines supplied through home delivery channels are dispensed, packaged and distributed safely, securely and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Undertake video or telephone consultations when needed
• Attend our training events and take part in clinical meetings
• Maintain your own skills and CPD

What you’ll need to have:

• Registration with GPhC or NMC
• Independent Prescribing Qualification
• You will be aware of your own limitations and of relevant national guideline
• You will have experience of consulting with patients and making independent decisions
• You will be able to make decisions promptly and know when to ask for help
• You will have a can-do attitude and be committed to always improving our services
• You will be a flexible team player who can thrive in our start-up mentality. We have a lot to learn and iterations are frequent!
• Strong understanding of the legal, ethical professional standards in regards to controlled drugs. 
• Knowledge of Responsible Pharmacist regulations and dispensary governance requirements.

It would be great if you also have:

• Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Practice
• Previous remote/online consulting experience
• Previous experience of prescribing controlled drugs
