We are seeking an experienced Linux Solution Architect with 10+ years of overall IT experience, including 5+ years in solution or platform architecture roles, with a strong understanding of VMware, KVM, and other enterprise virtualization platforms. The role requires leadership in solution architecture, platform integration, architecture governance, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to design and support integrated virtualized solutions aligned to business, security, and operational requirements. The focus is on outcome‑driven delivery within regulated enterprise environments.
Responsibilities:
Architecture & Design
- Lead solution and enterprise architecture activities, translating business, security, and operational requirements into implementable technical architectures
- Drive architecture governance, including architecture board reviews, approvals, and compliance to enterprise standards
- Identify, document, and justify product gaps, risks, constraints, and acceptable architectural deviations
- Translate high-level architectures into executable technical designs, standards, and reference architectures
- Conduct design reviews, technical validations, and architecture assessments
Implementation
- Design, deploy, and operate solutions using HPE VM Essentials / Morpheus, with strong hands-on involvement
- Provide advanced Linux administration and troubleshooting, including performance tuning and stability improvements
- Design and implement KVM-based virtualization solutions in enterprise environments
- Develop automation scripts and tooling to standardize provisioning, configuration, validation, and lifecycle management
- Support technical validation, UAT, and production readiness activities
- Perform root cause analysis with structured incident, problem, and post-incident documentation
Delivery & Collaboration
- Coordinate across multiple streams (engineering, support, presales and delivery )
- Resolve technical dependencies and cross-domain integration challenges
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including, operations, compliance, and business stakeholders
- Demonstrate high accountability and reliability in meeting delivery commitments
- Context-switch effectively between technical deep dives, architectural discussions, and stakeholder conversations
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Solution / Enterprise Architecture
- TOGAF or equivalent certification is beneficial
- Strong experience in requirements engineering
- CPRE or equivalent certification is beneficial
- Strong engineering capability to analyse customer requirements and develop viable technical solution proposals
- Advanced Linux administration and troubleshooting
- Kernel behavior, boot process, systemd
- Filesystems (ext4, XFS, GFS2)
- LVM, VxFS, multipathing, udev
- Experience in Serviceguard and pacemaker clustering technologies
- Strong Infrastructure and compute background:
- Virtualization
- Security
- Extensive experience with KVM/libvirt (virsh, virt-install, virt-manager)
- Strong understanding of VMware concepts (ESXi, vCenter) and migration strategies
- CPU models, NUMA awareness, SR-IOV, PCI passthrough, nested virtualization
- Storage
- SAN/NAS concepts: FC, iSCSI, NFS
- Storage integration with Linux and virtualization platforms
- Networking
- Deep understanding of Linux networking:
- Bonding (LACP), bridging, VLANs
- TCP/IP fundamentals, MTU, jumbo frames
- Troubleshooting complex network paths in virtualized environments
