Software Engineer Intern

Aru Labs is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to help us build and ship new internet products.

You’ll work closely with a small team across frontend, backend, APIs, AI integrations, and product development. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to learn by building real products, not just completing assigned tasks.

You’ll have the opportunity to take ideas from prototype → product → launch.

What you’ll do

• Build and improve web applications across frontend and backend

• Develop user interfaces using React

• Build APIs and backend services using Node.js and Express

• Work with MongoDB and other databases

• Integrate third-party APIs and AI/LLM services

• Debug, test, and improve existing products

• Deploy applications and help maintain production systems

• Work with product and design to turn ideas into working experiences

• Prototype new ideas and iterate quickly based on feedback

• Learn how real products are built and shipped

What we’re looking for

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Good understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript

• Familiarity with React and Node.js

• Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and web development

• Experience building personal projects, college projects, or side projects

• Comfortable learning new technologies independently

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Someone who enjoys building things from scratch

You do not need to know everything. We care more about your ability to learn, build, and take ownership.

• Experience with MongoDB

• Experience with Next.js

• Familiarity with Git and GitHub

• Experience deploying applications
