Software Engineer II

CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer II opening for our client.

Location: Remote
Duration: 12 months

Primary Responsibilities:

• Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, and maintain basic to complex applications and systems.

• Serve as an individual contributor on complex projects while maintaining strong functional knowledge of supported applications.

• Coordinate development activities and provide technical guidance to less experienced resources.

• Prepare technical project plans, estimates, specifications, diagrams, and system documentation.

• Collaborate with Development, Operations, Technology, business teams, and vendors throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Develop and execute test plans, troubleshoot issues, and complete debugging activities.

• Analyze application interfaces, programs, platforms, and integrations to identify and implement effective technology solutions.

• Recommend technologies, processes, and standards that improve application performance and business operations.

• Maintain application effectiveness and compliance with development standards, risk controls, and internal policies.

• Participate in technical evaluations, business studies, cost/benefit analyses, and special projects as required.

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Work independently on high-level systems analysis and technical development activities under the direction of a Technology Team Lead.

• Manage or coordinate project activities for small to large initiatives and monitor assigned resources as needed.

• Interact with senior management, technology teams, business stakeholders, clients, and vendors.

• Support project schedules, milestones, technical deliverables, and application effectiveness.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

• May direct, coordinate, and monitor less experienced technical resources.

• May provide technical leadership for project activities and serve as a backup to higher-level management as needed.

Education and Experience Required:

• Associate degree and 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or 7 years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including at least 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience.

• Experience with application development software, hardware platforms, and integrated applications.

• Experience managing multiple complex projects and driving milestones and delivery dates.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

• Experience coordinating with application development teams and business units.

• Experience recommending and implementing technology solutions.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities.

• Strong attention to detail with a proactive, action-oriented approach.

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Knowledge of enterprise application frameworks and supported business applications.

• Advanced understanding of application architecture, interfaces, and system integrations.

• Broad understanding of systems and applications beyond routine business-as-usual activities.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $46.64 - $77.74/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
