We are seeking a creative, organized, and motivated Social Media Assistant to support the execution of our social media presence across multiple platforms in a volunteer capacity. This role is performed within a volunteer capacity. Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop engaging content across social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook

  • Assist in planning and maintaining a consistent content calendar

  • Coordinate with the Principal Director and team members to ensure cohesive messaging, including captions, hashtags, and platform-specific formatting

  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments/messages, and engage with audiences as needed

  • Stay up to date on platform trends, features, and best practices

Content Development:

  • Develop and edit photos and videos tailored to each platform

  • Adapt content to align with the unique style, tone, and audience of Capital Resource Connections

  • Support creative brainstorming and execution of campaigns and social media initiatives

Learning & Growth:

  • Work closely with the Principal Director and team members to learn social media strategy and best practices

  • Receive ongoing feedback and mentorship to build skills in content creation, branding, and digital marketing

Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in social media, digital marketing, or communications

  • Basic understanding of major social media platforms and trends

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Creative mindset with attention to detail

  • Familiarity with Canva content creation tools is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Enjoy advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous internship, coursework, or personal experience managing social media accounts
