Social Content Creator (Multiple Openings)

OVERVIEW

BLK Matter is looking for part-time social content creators to help build and manage culture-driven short-form content across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

This role is ideal for someone deeply tapped into dance music, internet culture, memes, trends, and short-form storytelling. You should have a strong instinct for what grabs attention online and an understanding of how music and culture communities engage with content across platforms. You’ll work with a mix of provided footage, live moments, internet trends, and self-sourced content to create and publish posts designed for engagement and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and publish short-form content across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and/or YouTube Shorts
• Source, edit, package, and post content informed by internet and music culture
• Write captions, hooks, and formats optimized for platform performance
• Maintain a consistent posting cadence throughout the week
• Track performance and adapt based on what is resonating
• Collaborate with the team on content priorities while proactively bringing ideas forward

QUALIFICATIONS

• Deeply engaged in dance music, internet culture, and social media trends
• Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and short-form content behaviour
• Comfortable editing video and moving quickly with content
• Self-directed, reliable, and proactive
• Has a good sense of humour, timing, and online culture
• Experience growing social accounts or creating viral content is a strong asset
