Job Description

The Skills Strategy & Architecture Sr Manager will lead a team of specialists who will support this new operating model and way of thinking about talent development, and mobility, as well as bring skills
and capabilities mindset to life by executing a multi-year strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Execute a skills-driven organization strategy that identifies and deploys ready-now talent to step into open 
positions globally at Allstate.
• Execute and measure the progress on a phased multi-year plan and roadmap to move the organization 
towards an innovative approach to skills and capabilities management across the employee lifecycle 
including assessments, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee and leadership development, performance 
management, talent planning, rewards, and Inclusive Diversity and Equity practices.
• Define and execute the change strategy to bring Allstate to a skills-driven organization. 
• Implement a skills taxonomy and ontology (relationship between adjacent skills) and a common way of 
validating skills and capabilities across functions to lay the groundwork for making decisions about work and 
workers based more on skills/capabilities and less on title/tenure.
• Manage a team that is focused on identifying and executing opportunities to infuse the talent marketplace / 
skills and capabilities mindset, and performance enablement at every level of the enterprise and ensure 
strong executive sponsorship.
• Build strategic relationships and socialization of new ways of viewing talent profiles and mobility across 
Allstate businesses, Talent Management Center of Excellences, and HR business partners. This means guiding 
strategies to assess and develop skills across Allstate. Surface skills insights across talent practices, educating 
leaders on cross functional opportunities. 
• Create and execute a plan using talent AI (Artificial Intelligence) and automation to identify critical skills and 
capabilities that exist within Allstate today and how they compare to our competition and market, to plan, 
adapt and forecast changing skills landscape.
• Partner with Technology and HR leadership to define, support, and evolve the systems and tools needed to 
bring a skills infrastructure to life.

Functional Skills:


• Strong executor with understanding of emerging research, leading practices, and commercial software 
solutions for delivering optimal skills-based organization results, skills taxonomy and ontology.
• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with demonstrated ability to use data and measurable insights to 
inform decisions while promoting others to do the same.
• Fluent in digital strategies and technological advancements such as working with Artificial Intelligence and 
Machine Learning strongly preferred.
• Deep expertise in HR and integrated talent management best practices and learning experience design with 
the ability to build sustainable long-term strategies.
• Demonstrated track record of implementing a vision for seamless, integrated Talent Management practices 
to know and grow talent in support of key business priorities, including proactive, predictive solutions to 
support transformation.
• Strong change agility - thrives in a complex, fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment, and has led through 
transformation changes, developing a compelling vision and executing against a plan.
• Lifelong learner, with a passion for developing talent and leadership at all levels.
• Naturally courageous point of view and an analytical approach to problem-solving with speed, without 
sacrificing creativity.
• Confident and decisive leadership style, along with an emphasis on intense collaboration and communication 
on all levels.
• Authentic, transparent, and honest approach aligned with company values and leadership principles.

Experience

• 10 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This job has supervisory duties.

Allstate provides a comprehensive technology setup, including a laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, and mouse. Employees eligible to work from home also receive a monthly connectivity reimbursement to help offset internet costs.

When working from home, you must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating. Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.

Compensation offered for this role is 120,000.00 - 193,725.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
