The Networks division manages deployment and maintenance of Akamai's global network, handling over 20% of global web traffic. The Network Systems department aids sub-teams within Networks, enhancing their operational efficiency.

The Network Operation Systems SRE team operates in shifts to support tools and infrastructure enabling Akamai's global network deployment and maintenance.

As a Site Reliability Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring incoming support requests via email, chat, tickets.
• Troubleshooting /Fixing / Escalating issues depending on problem severity
• Monitoring system health and ensuring everything is up and running.
• Creating/Improving support-related documentation. Working on Automating manual work.
• Doing development work to fix bugs, make quick enhancements & handle technical debt.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelors degree and minimum of 3 years working in a Linux/UNIX environment
• Be able to script/debug in Python/Perl/PHP. And have minimum of 3 years working with relational database systems and complex SQL statements
• Have problem-solving skills and ability to script/debug in Python/Perl/PHP.
• Have minimum of 2 year building web-based applications (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
• Have experience to work on Ansible, Dockers and Kubernetes, Grafana/Splunk
