What this Journey Looks Like

At Pearster, we are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Developer / Business Systems Analyst to join our prominent Canadian fintech client. This hybrid role combines business analysis, solution design, ServiceNow development, and stakeholder engagement to deliver scalable, enterprise solutions across the ServiceNow platform.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and other developers to analyze business requirements, recommend solutions, configure and develop the ServiceNow platform, and support the delivery of enhancements from intake through production.

What You'll Lead and Build

Business Analysis

  • Act as the primary Business Systems Analyst (BSA) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for multiple concurrent requests, enhancements, and strategic initiatives.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.

  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications, user stories, process maps, and workflow diagrams.

  • Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, requirements reviews, and stakeholder sign-offs.

  • Act as the liaison between business and technology teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Guide stakeholders toward out-of-the-box ServiceNow capabilities and best practices while balancing business needs with platform governance.

  • Build strong relationships across business and technology teams and promote adoption of the ServiceNow platform.

ServiceNow Development & Configuration

  • Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow solutions across multiple modules.

  • Develop Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Flow Designer workflows, Integration Hub flows, and catalog items.

  • Configure forms, workflows, approvals, notifications, SLAs, portals, and automation.

  • Develop integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and ServiceNow Integration Hub.

  • Troubleshoot platform issues and implement scalable, maintainable solutions following ServiceNow best practices.

  • Support platform upgrades, testing, and release activities.

Delivery & Platform Governance

  • Support solution design, development, QA, regression testing, UAT, and production implementation.

  • Work closely with developers, QA analysts, Product Owners, and platform administrators throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, governance standards, security requirements, and platform best practices.

  • Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and platform optimization.

  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.

What You Bring to the Table

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience supporting and developing solutions on the ServiceNow platform.

  • Strong experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Systems Analyst, ServiceNow Developer, or Solution Consultant.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and technical solutions.

  • Experience writing user stories, functional specifications, process flows, and workflow diagrams.

  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and requirements gathering skills.

Technical Skills

  • Strong ServiceNow development experience, including:

    • JavaScript

    • GlideRecord

    • GlideAjax

    • Business Rules

    • Script Includes

    • Client Scripts

    • UI Policies

    • Flow Designer

    • Integration Hub

    • REST/SOAP Web Services

  • Experience supporting ServiceNow platform upgrades and release management.

  • Knowledge of QA processes, regression testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

ServiceNow Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • IT Service Management (Incident, Problem, Change)

  • Service Catalog

  • Employee Center / Service Portal

  • CMDB / CSDM / ITOM

  • IT Asset Management (ITAM)

  • Hardware Asset Management (HAM)

  • Software Asset Management (SAM)

  • Information Security

Nice to Have

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)

  • Experience with ServiceNow AI, Now Assist, Virtual Agent, or AI Search.

  • Experience with integrations involving Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, SailPoint, Microsoft Teams, Dynamics AX, Power BI, or other enterprise platforms.

  • Familiarity with Jira and the Atlassian ecosystem.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Deliver high-quality ServiceNow solutions that balance business needs with platform governance.
