AI Summary

Take full ownership of a portfolio of SEO client accounts, managing everything from strategy and technical implementation to reporting. Actively optimize website performance, manage on-page elements, and execute link-building strategies to improve organic visibility.

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven SEO Specialist to join our growing digital marketing agency. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role suited to someone with agency experience who enjoys working directly on client accounts and taking ownership of SEO performance end to end.

The successful candidate will be responsible for actively managing and optimising multiple client accounts, delivering SEO strategies, implementing recommendations, and reporting on results - not just coordinating or liaising. This role offers an excellent opportunity to deepen technical and strategic SEO skills within a fast-paced, innovative agency environment.

***Candidates currently running their own agency will not be considered***

Key Responsibilities

Client & Account Delivery

Take full ownership of a portfolio of SEO client accounts, from strategy through to execution and reporting.

Act as the day-to-day SEO lead on accounts by actively implementing SEO tasks, not just coordinating them.

Communicate directly with clients, explaining work completed, insights, and next steps clearly and confidently.

Manage timelines, deliverables, and priorities across multiple accounts to ensure consistent quality and performance.

Technical & On-Page SEO

Conduct in-depth keyword research to support content planning and on-page optimisation.

Optimise website pages, blog content, and landing pages to improve rankings and organic visibility.

Create, update, and optimise metadata including titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, and image optimisation.

Manage and update content across content management systems, primarily WordPress.

Identify and resolve on-site SEO issues such as crawl errors, indexation problems, site speed, and technical SEO blockers.

Manage canonical tags, pagination, and hreflang attributes where applicable to avoid duplicate content and support international SEO.

Implement and maintain proper redirect management, including 301 redirects, identifying and resolving redirect chains and loops.

Manage and optimise robots.txt files and XML sitemaps, including crawl budget management for larger sites.

Audit and improve Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) and Page Experience signals in line with Google's guidelines.

Conduct log file analysis to understand crawler behaviour and identify indexation inefficiencies.

Implement schema markup and structured data (JSON-LD) across relevant page types to enhance SERP appearances.

Support local SEO efforts including Google Business Profile optimisation, local citations, and NAP consistency where relevant to client accounts.

Tools & Data Analysis

Implement and monitor SEO activity using tools including:

      Google Search Console

      Google Analytics (GA4)

      Google Tag Manager

      SEMrush / Ahrefs

      Screaming Frog

Looker Studio (Google Data Studio) for client reporting dashboards

Sitebulb or similar crawl analysis tools

Analyse performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Produce clear, actionable SEO reports that demonstrate progress, outcomes, and ROI.

Set up and configure GA4 events, goals, and conversion tracking to accurately measure SEO-driven performance.

Utilise AI-assisted SEO workflows and tools to improve efficiency and output quality, while maintaining accuracy and judgement.

Off-Page SEO & Authority Building

Actively support and execute link acquisition strategies through outreach, content promotion, and digital PR.

Conduct competitor backlink analysis and identify link-building opportunities.

Assess link quality and ensure backlink profiles align with best practices and avoid toxic links.

Support efforts to build topical authority and strengthen E-E-A-T signals.

Conduct content gap analysis to identify missing topical coverage and inform link-worthy content creation.

Monitor and manage brand mentions and unlinked citations as part of wider authority-building activity.

Collaboration & Best Practice

Work closely with content writers, designers, and developers to ensure SEO best practices are implemented correctly.

Stay up to date with algorithm updates, SEO trends, and industry developments.

Proactively suggest improvements to processes, workflows, and client strategies.

Brief and quality-check content produced by writers to ensure it meets SEO requirements, including keyword usage, structure, and E-E-A-T alignment.
