Position Summary

The Senior SRM Assembly Engineer III serves as the technical authority for SRM manufacturing and assembly operations. This role leads manufacturing strategy across multiple programs while driving production scalability, manufacturing readiness, process standardization, and operational excellence.

SRM Engineer III partners directly with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, Quality, Safety, and Executive Leadership to ensure production systems support aggressive delivery schedules while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and configuration control.

What You Will Do

  • Lead manufacturing engineering strategies across multiple SRM programs.
  • Develop scalable production systems supporting rapid production growth.
  • Establish manufacturing standards, best practices, and design-for-production requirements.
  • Lead Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRRs), Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs), and production risk assessments.
  • Serve as technical lead for factory layouts, production flow, capacity planning, and line design.
  • Develop manufacturing staffing models, equipment strategies, and capital investment recommendations.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Production reviews.
  • Drive standardization across work instructions, tooling, manufacturing methods, and production documentation.
  • Provide technical oversight for root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Support Configuration Management and production implementation of engineering changes.
  • Lead manufacturing support during qualification testing and customer demonstrations.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the Manufacturing Engineering organization.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on throughput, quality, safety, and cost reduction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 6+ years of manufacturing or production engineering experience.
  • Significant experience supporting aerospace, defense, propulsion, energetics, or high-reliability manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience transitioning products from development into production.
  • Strong understanding of configuration management, production documentation, and manufacturing planning.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PFMEA, DFM, DFA, and root cause methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and technical decision-making skills.
  • U.S. Person required.
