Job Description

The Position

The Senior Specialist - Trade Channels (SSTC) builds and manages business relationships between Organon and assigned accounts with the following goals:

  • Optimize product access and availability across distribution channels

  • Maximize net sales performance and contract effectiveness across the portfolio

  • Ensure alignment to company strategy, pricing governance, and compliance policies

  • Deliver customer-focused solutions that improve access and outcomes for patients

Responsibilities

The SSTC, in collaboration with the Associate Director Trade Channels, is responsible for developing strong relationships with key stakeholders across assigned accounts by demonstrating a deep understanding of customer business models, priorities, and operational needs.

They partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders including Brand Teams, Supply Chain, Order-to-Cash, Field Sales, and Market Access to ensure seamless product availability and execution. The SSTC serves as Organon’s primary point of contact for assigned accounts and is accountable for identifying, advancing, and executing business opportunities.

Targeted accounts may include:

  • Regional wholesalers

  • Specialty distributors

Account Management & Planning

The SSTC, in collaboration with the Associate Director Trade Channels, develops and executes strategic and tactical account plans for assigned customers, with focus in the following areas:

Economic

  • Support the negotiation, execution, and management of Distribution Service Agreements (DSAs) and specialty purchase agreements

  • Drive contract performance aligned to financial targets and access objectives

  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance product flow, stocking strategies, and channel profitability

  • Monitor account performance and act with urgency on risks and opportunities

Operational

  • Ensure product availability and access across downstream channels

  • Coordinate implementation of stocking initiatives, including new product launches

  • Partner with internal teams to resolve supply, distribution, and access challenges

  • Support execution of account plans through coordination with internal and external stakeholders

Strategic / Customer Engagement

  • Identify areas of mutual value creation with customers focused on improving patient access and health outcomes

  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with key decision makers

  • Lead ongoing account reviews and communications to ensure alignment and performance tracking

  • Utilize data and analytics to assess opportunities and inform decision-making

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PharmD) preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in trade channel operations

  • Experience working with wholesalers, specialty distributors

  • Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills

  • Effective communication skills with ability to influence internal and external stakeholders

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and drive results in complex environments

  • Proficiency with Excel; familiarity with trade/channel systems (e.g., Integrichain) is a plus

  • Willingness to travel (~5 - 10%)

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Account management experience

  • Experience in contract negotiation, pricing strategy, and channel optimization

  • Strong consultative approach with ability to develop tailored customer solutions

  • Knowledge of healthcare policy, market trends, and evolving distribution models

Annualized Salary Range (US)

$125,400.00 - $213,100.00
