ABOUT THE ROLE

Prompt.io™ is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale the technology that powers our platform. You’ll take ownership of complex technical work, contribute to architecture and technical decisions, and partner closely with Engineering and Product to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
We’re looking for an experienced engineer with strong technical judgment who can take a problem from concept through production, navigate complex systems, and help raise the quality of the engineering team. You’ll have meaningful influence over how we build while remaining hands-on in the code.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable applications, services, and APIs.
• Own complex technical projects from design and architecture through implementation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Contribute to the architecture and technical direction of our SaaS platform.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product to translate business and product needs into effective technical solutions.
• Design and build reusable services, components, and patterns that improve the broader codebase.
• Identify and address performance, scalability, reliability, and security challenges.
• Work across front-end, back-end, and service layers as needed to solve complex problems.
• Make thoughtful technical tradeoffs between immediate needs and long-term maintainability.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive solutions to their root cause.
• Provide thoughtful code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing that helps elevate the engineering team.
• Contribute to improving engineering standards, practices, and processes.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 5-7+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent experience demonstrating Senior-level scope and impact.
• Significant experience building and maintaining production SaaS or web applications.
• Strong experience with Java and modern server-side application development.
• Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript and modern web application development.
• Strong experience designing and working with APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including designing and working with data-intensive applications.
• Experience developing and operating applications in cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, software design, testing, performance, scalability, security, and data protection.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex technical problems and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across a fully remote team.

• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $125,000–$175,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors.
