About project:

We are looking for Senior Software Engineers to join a project delivered for our international client operating in the digital payments and financial technology sector. The client develops modern payment platforms supporting business-critical financial services, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and continuous product evolution.

This role is a great opportunity to work on enterprise-grade software solutions within a collaborative Agile environment. You will play a leading role in the design, development, testing, and continuous evolution of a modern platform while driving technical excellence across backend services, APIs, and selected frontend components. The project combines software engineering, cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and modern development methodologies to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions.

You will work closely with software engineers, architects, QA specialists, Product Owners, and other cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical applications while mentoring colleagues and contributing to the long-term technical direction of the platform.

You will be:

  • actively contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and continuous improvement of the platform,
  • take technical ownership of new feature development from design through successful delivery,
  • develop and maintain enterprise-grade backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservice-based solutions,
  • contribute to frontend development where required using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript,
  • ensure software quality through test-driven development, behavior-driven development, and automated testing practices,
  • mentor and support less experienced developers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing,
  • take responsibility for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues,
  • contribute to the technical evolution of the platform by identifying opportunities for modernization and continuous improvement,
  • develop platform enhancements in accordance with established engineering standards and best practices,
  • maintain high-quality technical documentation and actively reduce technical complexity,
  • ensure agreed development processes, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently achieved,
  • collaborate closely with architects, QA engineers, Product Owners, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality software,
  • contribute to platform architecture discussions and engineering best practices,
  • work collaboratively within cross-functional teams while promoting a "one team" engineering culture and developing broad, T-shaped skills,

 

Your profile:

  • extensive commercial experience in software development using Java 17 or newer,
  • strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, and enterprise Java development,
  • proven experience designing and developing microservices and RESTful APIs,
  • solid understanding of object-oriented analysis, design, and software architecture principles,
  • strong experience working with SQL and relational databases,
  • practical experience with test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD),
  • experience working within Agile software development environments,
  • good understanding of DevOps culture, CI/CD practices, and modern software delivery,
  • practical experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript,
  • experience with Git and development tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Tomcat, and Apache,
  • strong understanding of clean coding practices, SOLID principles, and software design patterns,
  • experience writing automated tests using JUnit, WebDriver, Cucumber, or similar frameworks,
  • familiarity with XML and JSON data formats,
  • experience working with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting,
  • experience working with large-scale relational databases,
  • ability to make sound technical decisions and evaluate complex technical trade-offs,
  • strong leadership, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing skills,
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • proactive, self-driven, and solution-oriented mindset,
  • strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage work,
  • collaborative approach with the ability to influence technical direction and challenge the status quo when appropriate,

  • practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery.

  • Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

Nice to have:

  • experience working with AWS cloud services,
  • experience contributing to enterprise-scale system architecture and platform modernization initiatives,
  • familiarity with distributed systems and scalable application design,
  • practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery,

  • experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work.

  • Interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. agent-based workflows, automation patterns, AI-augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
