Senior Software Developer

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and evolve our cloud-native SaaS platform. In this role, you'll lead the design and delivery of complex technical solutions, influence architectural decisions, and work closely with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable software.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems, mentoring teammates, and improving the way software is built. You'll have significant ownership over technical initiatives while helping shape the future direction of our platform.

What You'll Do

Design & Build

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.
• Lead the development of complex features and shared platform capabilities.
• Design APIs, services, and integrations within cloud-native environments (Azure or AWS).
• Contribute to architectural decisions that support long-term platform growth.
• Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Identify and reduce technical debt while promoting maintainable code.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Document technical designs, architecture, and engineering standards.

Drive Engineering Excellence

• Champion best practices for software design, testing, and code quality.
• Lead thoughtful code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
• Help improve CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing.
• Contribute to observability through logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
• Continuously improve engineering processes that increase quality and delivery speed.

Shape Technical Direction

• Translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in roadmap planning and technical estimation.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities early.
• Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term platform sustainability.
• Influence platform architecture and engineering standards across the team.

Build Secure & Reliable Software

• Incorporate secure-by-design principles into development.
• Implement appropriate authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection practices.
• Support audit logging, role-based access controls, and compliance requirements.
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to disaster recovery, resiliency, and service reliability initiatives.

Collaborate & Mentor

• Partner with Product, UX, and Engineering leaders to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Lead technical discussions and architecture reviews.
• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Communicate technical trade-offs, progress, risks, and recommendations clearly.
• Foster a collaborative culture built on ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building modern SaaS applications.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications using Azure or AWS.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and modern software architecture.
• Experience with modern frontend technologies (such as React) and backend development (such as .NET/C# or similar).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Proven ability to deliver complex technical projects from design through deployment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
• Familiarity with standards such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 9001, or 21 CFR Part 11.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation.
• Knowledge of observability tools, monitoring platforms, and SRE practices.
