AI Summary

Lead organic search and AI discoverability strategies for a portfolio of eCommerce and lead generation accounts. Manage the full lifecycle from technical audits and roadmap definition to execution and client reporting.

Contract - Part-Time - Fully Remote - AI-Native Required

About the role

Full Funnel Growth is a remote performance marketing agency. We run SEO and AI search programs for medical aesthetics device manufacturers, DTC eCommerce brands, regulated retail (cannabis), lead generation for service businesses, and B2B SaaS. The work spans technical audits, content strategy, local optimization, and international sites across English, French, and Spanish markets. Strategy and execution live with the same person on every account, not split across a strategist and a coordinator.

Search is fragmenting. Google still matters, but the answer layer (AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini) is rewriting how people find and trust information. We need someone who already operates across both surfaces: traditional SERP visibility and AI citation. Not someone who read an article about AEO last month. Someone who has shipped work against it.

We operate AI-natively. Our daily workflow runs through Claude Code with custom skills, Python scripts that hit the Search Console, Google Ads, and SerpAPI endpoints directly, AI-visibility connectors like OpenForge, and a precision protocol that requires labeled claims and exact numbers in every deliverable. AI is not a tool we use. It is how the work gets done.

We are hiring a part-time contract Senior SEO & AEO Strategist who already operates this way, or is close enough that we can finish the calibration in week one.

What you will own

  • Organic search and AI discoverability strategy for a defined slice of our portfolio. Three to five accounts at any given time, across eCommerce, lead gen, and multi-location businesses. You own the roadmap, the execution, and the results.

  • Technical SEO at a level that matters: site architecture, crawl efficiency, Core Web Vitals, structured data and schema strategy, internal linking systems, JavaScript rendering, and indexation management. You can read a Screaming Frog crawl and know what to fix before you open a ticket.

  • AI search visibility built the way it actually works. Most LLM citations come from third-party sources, not owned properties, so you build authority across the citation ecosystem, not just schema on the client's own site. You map institutional and contextual authority, optimize entities and content for AI sourcing, implement LLM.txt, and you know that Claude, ChatGPT, and Google cite differently and need different strategies.

  • Content strategy rooted in search intent, entity relationships, and topical authority, not keyword volume alone. You build architectures that serve traditional SERPs, AI answer surfaces, and the off-property sources those answers cite.

  • Local SEO for multi-location clients: Google Business Profile optimization, local landing page strategy, review management frameworks, and local citation and link building. Some of our clients operate across dozens of locations.

  • Reporting and client communication: weekly per-account write-ups in our .docx format, monthly client-ready summaries, and direct calls with marketing directors, CMOs, and founders. You work alongside paid search, paid social, CRO, and retention teams, and you can articulate how organic and AI search fit a full-funnel program. Most of the work happens in writing, but you will present on calls.

  • Proactive opportunity surfacing: content gap analysis, competitor movement, algorithm shifts, SERP feature changes, and AI citation gaps. You flag opportunities before someone asks.

How we work, and what we expect on AI

  • You build, you do not just prompt. You can read or write Python that pulls Search Console data, runs crawl analysis, parses structured data at scale, or monitors AI citation through tools like SerpAPI and OpenForge. If you have not written code before but have been pairing with Claude Code or Cursor to ship real SEO automations, that counts.

  • You have used Claude Code, Cursor, or a comparable agentic tool as part of your daily workflow. Not for drafting blog outlines. For building systems that make your SEO work faster and more precise.

  • You understand how LLMs source, rank, and cite web content. You have a working mental model of why most citations come from third-party sources, how structured data and entity clarity feed AI sourcing, and how authority compounds across the ecosystem. And you have tested that model against real results.

  • You stay current on platform-level changes (Google algorithm updates, AI Overviews and AI Mode expansion, and the shifting citation behavior of ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini). You have informed opinions, not reflexive takes.

  • You write with discipline. Our analytical work labels every substantive claim as extracted, inferred, or assumed. Numbers are exact. Missing data is flagged, not estimated. If "directionally accurate" is good enough for you, we are not a fit.

What we are not

  • Not a generalist digital agency. We do not need someone who lists SEO alongside ten other skills on a resume.

  • Not a content-only role. If your SEO experience is "write blogs and build links," this is not the right fit. Technical depth is required.

  • Not a coordinator role. You are the strategic lead on your accounts. You define the roadmap and defend it to clients.

  • Not a "use ChatGPT to write meta descriptions" definition of AI-forward. That is table stakes, not the bar.

Required experience

  • 7+ years in SEO, with at least two years at an agency where you owned client relationships and strategy independently.

  • Deep technical SEO fluency: site architecture, crawl optimization, structured data and schema implementation, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript rendering, and indexation management.

  • Demonstrated AEO work. You have optimized content, site architecture, or off-property authority specifically for AI answer engines, and you can show the approach and the result. This is not optional.

  • Strong command of the SEO toolstack: Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or SEMrush, and schema validation tools. Proficient, not just familiar.

  • Demonstrated work across both eCommerce and lead gen SEO. We need both, on the same person.

  • Content strategy depth: topical authority maps, entity-first content architectures, and briefs that serve both SERP and AI citation.

  • Local SEO experience: GBP management, local landing pages, citation building, and multi-location strategy.

  • Remote work track record with strong written communication, and comfort speaking directly with CMOs and directors of marketing.

Nice to have

  • Vertical depth in medical aesthetics, DTC eCommerce on Shopify, regulated retail (cannabis, alcohol), or B2B SaaS.

  • International SEO experience: hreflang, multi-language site architecture, and market-specific search behavior across US, Canada, Europe, and Australia.

  • Programmatic SEO or large-scale content automation experience.

  • Familiarity with marketing attribution tools (GA4, Triple Whale, Northbeam) and how SEO fits into multi-touch attribution models.

  • CMS familiarity relevant to our clients: Shopify, WordPress, Webflow, Wix.

  • Looker Studio comfort, or willingness to inherit dashboards built in it.

  • Paid search literacy as a complement, not a primary skill. Understanding how paid and organic interact on the same SERP, and now the same AI answer.

Compensation and logistics

  • Engagement type: 1099 contractor

  • Hours: Part-time, 20 to 30 hrs/week, flexible weekly distribution

  • Location: Fully remote, US preferred for timezone overlap

  • Rate: Hourly, commensurate with experience

  • Start: ASAP, with a paid two-week working trial on one account before full portfolio assignment

How to apply

  1. A short intro, one paragraph, not a cover letter. Why SEO and AEO at an agency, not just any marketing role.

  2. Resume or LinkedIn.

  3. Two SEO wins with the actual decision and tradeoff, not just traffic numbers. One should involve technical SEO. We want to see how you think, not just what you delivered.

  4. One example of AEO or AI-search optimization work you have done. A before/after, a methodology you built, a monitoring system you run. Anything that proves this is already how you operate.

  5. One AI-native workflow you run today. A script, a Claude Code session, an automation. Something that shows AI is integrated into your SEO process.

  6. One question you would ask us if hired.

We will deprioritize applications that send a generic resume with no working sample. We are looking for someone who already treats search as a discovery problem across every surface, not a rankings game.
