The Role
We are looking for SDET to own quality engineering for the Simbian platform end-to-end.
This role is not about executing test plans handed to you. It's about building the test infrastructure, strategy, and
culture that makes quality a first-class property of everything we ship.
You will design and build automated test frameworks from the ground up, integrate quality gates into the release
process, and define what "release-ready" means for a multi-tenant, AI-powered security platform. You'll work closely
with engineering, product, and security teams to embed testability into the platform from the start.
What You'll Do
Test
Automation & Framework Ownership
• Build and own the automated test framework covering UI, API, and integration layers for a multi-tenant web
platform.
• Design and implement test suites that are reliable, maintainable, and fast enough to run in CI.
• Drive flaky-test reduction and own the health of the regression suite over time.
• Establish test patterns and tooling that engineers can build independently.
Test Strategy & Coverage
• Design the test strategy for complex platform surfaces: multi-tenancy, RBAC, self-serve upgrades, and agentic
workflows.
• Define coverage targets and release-readiness signals that the team can trust.
• Build and maintain regression suites that protect against regressions as the platform evolves rapidly.
• Identify gaps in coverage proactively and prioritize closing them based on risk.
CI/CD Integration & Quality Gates
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines, so quality checks are part of every release, not an afterthought.
• Build containerized test environments using Docker and Kubernetes to ensure consistency across dev, staging, and
production.
• Define and enforce quality gates that block bad releases and give engineers fast, clear feedback.
Engineering Partnership & Defect Triage
• Partner with engineers early - during design and implementation - to ensure features are built for testability.
• Own defect triage: reproduce issues reliably, prioritize by impact, and track resolution.
• Contribute to architectural discussions where quality and testability are at stake.
Requirements
You Might Be a Good Fit If You
• Have 6-10 years of SDET or quality engineering experience, with a track record of building automation
infrastructure, not just writing tests.
• Think in systems: you design test strategies the way engineers design software.
• Are comfortable operating independently - defining scope, making tradeoffs, and driving execution without a
detailed spec.
• Care about whether the product works for users, not just whether test coverage numbers look good.
• Enjoy debugging hard, flaky, or environment-dependent failures and turning them into reliable signal.
• Are comfortable in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where the product is changing as you test it.
Must Have
• 6-10 years of professional SDET or quality engineering experience.
• Strong test automation experience in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with API automation (REST, GraphQL) and UI automation (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or
equivalent).
• Experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent).
• Experience with containerized test environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated ability to design test strategy independently - multi-tenancy, RBAC, or similarly complex surfaces
preferred.
• Strong debugging skills and ownership mindset.
Bonus / Great to Have
• Experience testing security products - SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, or similar.
• Experience testing LLM-powered or agentic systems - evaluating non-deterministic outputs, hallucination edge
cases, or agent behavior.
• Experience building evaluation frameworks or golden datasets for AI workflows.
• Experience with observability and tracing tools to debug test failures in distributed systems.
• Strong academic background in Computer Science or related field.
Benefits
• Build quality infrastructure for an AI-first cybersecurity platform from the ground up - no inherited mess.
• Work at the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, and distributed systems.
• Own the quality bar for the entire platform - your decisions shape what ships.
• Work directly with founders, engineers, and security experts.
• Be part of an early team where your work has an outsized, visible impact.
• Ship fast, learn fast, and build systems that matter.
