This is an individual contributor role for an experienced backend engineer who cares deeply about code quality, testing, and long-term impact.

Why Join OTGS?

  • Stable & self-funded: Founded in 2007, profitable, and independent — we build for the long term.

  • Real product impact: You’ll work on ATE, a core product at OTGS with real customers, real scale, and real technical challenges.
  • Fully remote, async-friendly: Work from anywhere within EMEA hours as part of a global, distributed team.
  • Engineering-driven culture: We value ownership, autonomy, testing, and thoughtful problem-solving.
  • Growth without chaotic hype: Mentorship, internal mobility, and long-term career paths — without chaos.
  • Fair compensation + great benefits: Designed to support your well-being both inside and outside of work.

What You’ll Do

  • Own features from implementation to production within a well-defined product scope
  • Build and maintain robust Ruby on Rails systems used at scale
  • Work closely with product and other engineers to solve real user problems
  • Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, and E2E)
  • Improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing systems
  • Take responsibility for the quality and long-term health of what you build

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 4+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Strong backend engineering skills and database experience
  • Solid experience writing and maintaining automated tests (including E2E)
  • Experience building and running production systems
  • Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, you look beyond tickets
  • Experience with Web APIs
  • Availability during EMEA working hours

Nice to Have

  • Experience with React
  • CI/CD experience (GitLab, Jenkins, or similar)
  • Background jobs, AWS, or complex integrations
  • Experience with Capybara

This Role Is a Great Fit If You:

  • Take pride in ownership and accountability
  • Care about testing and long-term code quality
  • Prefer stable, product-focused work over short-term hype
  • Enjoy collaborating with thoughtful, kind, and experienced people
  • Want to make a lasting impact on a product used by thousand of real customers
