About the Role

You will lead a key workstream in a large transformation focused on replacing and significantly enhancing an existing high-performance computing environment. The goal is to deliver a modern, scalable HPC compute and storage platform that supports advanced data processing and engineering workloads.

The assignment covers the full delivery lifecycle, from planning and governance to design, build, integration, migration, testing, and transition to operations. You will work in a complex environment where infrastructure, security, shared IT services, and automation need to come together in a reliable managed services setup. It is an exciting opportunity to drive a business-critical platform transformation with broad influence across delivery, governance, and operational readiness.

Job Description

• You will own delivery outcomes for the HPC compute and storage workstream, including scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
• You will develop and maintain integrated delivery plans aligned with overall programme milestones.
• You will drive governance activities such as RAID management, status reporting, and change control.
• You will coordinate closely with architecture, engineering, security, and operations teams to keep delivery moving end to end.
• You will define acceptance criteria and make sure quality gates are met throughout the lifecycle.
• You will manage suppliers, vendors, and third-party dependencies linked to the platform delivery.
• You will lead the transition to operations, including service readiness, handover, and operational acceptance.
• You will engage stakeholders at different levels, handle escalations, and create clear decision frameworks.
• You will support test and readiness planning, including entry criteria for UAT and milestone tracking.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years in complex programme/project delivery.
• Experience delivering HPC or large-scale infrastructure platforms.
• Strong experience in governance, dependency management, and stakeholder alignment.
• Expert-level planning and delivery control.
• Strong executive communication and reporting skills.
• Understanding of HPC architecture domains such as compute, storage, and networking.
• Proven ability to lead across matrix teams and coordinate multiple delivery parties.
• PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent certification.
• ITIL knowledge for service environments.
