AI Summary

You will own the product roadmap and strategy for the Helius developer platform, including real-time streaming, RPC infrastructure, and developer tooling. You will work closely with engineering and customers to define product guarantees, pricing models, and launch strategies to drive adoption and revenue.

About Helius

Helius is building the core infrastructure for Solana - empowering developers to create the next generation of crypto-powered applications. Our mission is to accelerate the development of internet capital markets by making it easier, faster, and more intuitive to build on-chain.

Thousands of teams - from early-stage startups to industry leaders like Coinbase, Phantom, and Jupiter - rely on Helius APIs, webhooks, and indexing tools to power their products. Backed by Haun Ventures, Founders Fund, and Foundation Capital, we’re a small, senior team obsessed with performance, simplicity, and scalability in decentralized systems.

Read our Helius Manifesto to see how we work and what we value.

About the Role

This is a senior product role at Helius - you'll own product across our entire data platform: real-time streaming (LaserStream), historical and archival data, RPC infrastructure, APIs, webhooks, and developer tooling. Our customers are engineers at trading firms, wallets, and data platforms, and the product decisions that matter to them are latency budgets, delivery guarantees, and API ergonomics.

Our best engineers make product decisions, and we expect our PM to return the favor. You should write enough code to use our products the way customers do - prototype an idea, reproduce a bug, contribute when it's the fastest path to shipping. You won't ship production systems, but you should never need someone to show you what our APIs feel like to build against.

The engineering problems are hard: throughput, fan-out, ordering, historical replay. The product problems are harder to see: which guarantees to promise, what a firehose should cost, how to make a powerful primitive easy to adopt. Your job is making the platform cohere - one roadmap, one pricing logic, one developer experience.

You'll be embedded with engineering, in the room on enterprise deals, and constantly in front of customers. This product has real traction and real revenue. You're not building from zero - you're deciding where it goes next.

What You'll Do

  • Own the product roadmap across the Helius developer platform, balancing customer requests, infrastructure investments, and new product bets

  • Spend real time with customers - trading firms, wallets, indexers - understanding their architectures, latency budgets, and where our products fit or fall short

  • Use our products hands-on and make code contributions where they're the fastest path: prototypes, example integrations, reproducing customer issues, and improving developer-facing tooling

  • Track the competitive landscape closely (streaming providers, data API vendors) and translate it into positioning, pricing, and build/kill decisions

  • Define product guarantees: delivery semantics, ordering, SLAs, and the trade-offs we're willing to make between performance, cost, and simplicity

  • Write specs and decision memos that give staff-level engineers clear context without prescribing implementation

  • Own pricing and packaging across the platform, including enterprise deals and usage-based models

  • Drive launches end-to-end: positioning, documentation, migration guides, changelogs, and developer communication - including sensitive comms like pricing changes, billing corrections, and migration notices

  • Instrument and track what matters: adoption, activation, usage growth, churn signals, latency and reliability SLOs, and revenue

  • Build the lightweight product processes a senior remote team actually needs (and kill the ones it doesn't)

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of product management experience on technical, developer-facing products - streaming/messaging systems, data infrastructure, APIs, market data, or similar

  • Engineering experience and working coding ability - you can write code, integrate against our APIs yourself, and prototype without waiting on an engineer. It can be minimal, but it must be real.

  • Genuine technical depth: you understand distributed systems trade-offs, can reason about throughput, backpressure, and delivery guarantees, and can hold your own with staff engineers

  • Crypto experience - you've built in, worked on, or shipped products for blockchain ecosystems and understand how on-chain data, wallets, and transactions work

  • Experience serving demanding technical customers - ideally trading firms, fintech, or other latency-sensitive users - and turning their raw feedback into prioritized product decisions

  • A track record of owning product outcomes: adoption, revenue, or retention numbers you can speak to

  • Strong pricing instincts for usage-based infrastructure products

  • Exceptional written communication - we're remote and async-heavy, and your specs and memos need to stand on their own, including customer-facing comms on sensitive topics

  • Comfort operating with high autonomy as the primary product voice in the company

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience as a software engineer, or a history of shipping meaningful code contributions as a PM

  • Direct experience with real-time market data, event streaming (Kafka, gRPC streaming, WebSockets at scale), or exchange/trading infrastructure

  • Solana-specific experience - you've built on Solana or worked deeply with its data model, RPC layer, or ecosystem

  • Experience as an early, founding, or lead PM at an infrastructure or devtools company

Why Helius?

  • High-impact work: Your code will power applications used by millions across the Solana ecosystem, including Coinbase, Jupiter, and Phantom.

  • Serious engineering: Build fast, reliable systems and user experiences across distributed infra, high-throughput backends, and modern frontend stacks.

  • Ownership & growth: Lead critical initiatives, influence architecture and product direction, and take on more responsibility as the company scales.

  • Remote-first flexibility: Work where you’re most effective with a flexible, fully distributed team.

  • Competitive comp & perks: Market-leading salary, meaningful equity, generous vacation, wellness budgets, and support for learning and travel.

  • Mission-driven team: Join ambitious builders who move fast, take ownership, and are shaping the future of decentralized apps.
