We are seeking an experienced cross-functional leader to drive the strategy, performance, and lifecycle of Gibraltar Building Products’ roofing accessories portfolio. This role is accountable for driving profitable growth, simplifying the product portfolio, and delivering differentiated products across new construction and repair/remodel channels.
Success is measured by revenue growth, margin expansion, portfolio efficiency, and new product impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Strategy & Portfolio Ownership 
  • Define and own the category strategy, including growth, margin expansion, and competitive positioning. 
  • Build and maintain a multi-year product roadmap grounded in customer insight, market trends, and financial impact. 
  • Translate strategy into clear priorities, trade-offs, and execution plans. 
  • Partner with sales & marketing to ensure alignment between product strategy and go-to-market objectives.
Portfolio Simplification 
  • Lead portfolio rationalization to reduce complexity, eliminate low-value SKUs, and improve operational efficiency. 
  • Quantify and capture value across the supply chain (cost, inventory, manufacturing efficiency). 
  • Drive disciplined decision-making on SKU retention, consolidation, and retirement.
New Product Development 
  • Identify, prioritize, and lead NPD from concept through launch.
  • Build business cases including pricing, cost targets, and ROI.
  • Partner with engineering to ensure products meet performance, cost, and timeline commitments.
  • Ensure successful launches with strong positioning, pricing, and channel readiness.
Cross-Functional Leadership 
  • Lead alignment across engineering, operations, supply chain, marketing, and sales to deliver business outcomes.
  • Balance competing priorities (cost, speed, quality) with clear decision-making and accountability.
  • Serve as the central point of ownership for product decisions and trade-offs.
Market & Customer Insight 
  • Analyze competitors, industry trends, and customer needs.
  • Translate insights into product opportunities and improvements.
  • Communicate strategy, priorities, and results to leadership and partners.
  • Support sales enablement, customer engagement, and product positioning.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. 

 

Education and/or Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of product management or product marketing in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience owning product P&L and driving measurable business outcomes.

Travel: <35%

  • Commercial Acumen: Strong grasp of pricing, cost structure, margins, and profitability levers.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to define clear strategy and translate into execution.
  • Analytical Rigor: Data-driven decision-making with strong financial and market analysis skills.
  • Customer Orientation: Deep curiosity about customer needs and behavior.
  • Communication & Influence: Ability to align and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Operational Understanding: Familiarity with manufacturing, supply chain, and product cost drivers.
  • Tools & Metrics: Experience with roadmap planning, portfolio analytics, and financial KPIs (e.g., standard cost, margin, EBITDA).
