Product analyst
We’re looking for a senior product analyst to join our growing analytics team.
You’ll own product analytics end-to-end — from instrumentation and data quality to experimentation, funnels, and retention — and be a genuine strategic partner to product and growth teams. You’ll work closely with another analyst and data engineers, bring structure to how we measure product decisions, and actively help build a strong data culture across the company.
You’ll be expected to form hypotheses, challenge assumptions, and define what success looks like for the things we ship.
This is a fully remote collaboration under a service agreement. We work primarily within the GMT+1 time zone and expect a regular overlap of business hours on weekdays to allow for meetings and live collaboration.
Who we are
Readymag is a design tool for creating websites, landing pages, portfolios, magazines, editorials, and presentations.
We’re a fully distributed team with a strong international user community and client-oriented service. We value a culture of questions and curiosity with a ‘measure what can be measured’ approach.
What you will do
- Own product analytics infrastructure in Amplitude and BigQuery: maintain data consistency, quality, and coverage, and use it yourself as a primary tool for discovery, not just as a reporting layer;
- Think in funnels, retention, cohorts, and activation. Spot anomalies in onboarding and in-product behavior, form hypotheses, and drive investigations through to clear conclusions;
- Design and run A/B tests end-to-end: framing the question, calculating sample sizes, monitoring, and interpreting results with statistical rigor;
- Write SQL in BigQuery to explore data, validate quality, and answer complex ad-hoc questions;
- Build dashboards and reports, and actively use them in your own work to surface findings, generate hypotheses, and share insights with the team proactively;
- Translate findings into clear, actionable conclusions for product and growth teams;
- Work closely with a second analyst, developers, and data engineers to keep tracking consistent across the funnel, and define instrumentation requirements when gaps appear;
- Help shape the analytics infrastructure as we migrate from Amplitude toward a full data warehouse setup.
What we expect
- 5+ years of relevant experience, with a track record of influencing product decisions;
- Strong SQL: comfortable with complex queries, joins, aggregations, and window functions;
- Python: comfortable writing scripts for data processing, visualization, and statistical analysis for A/B tests and research;
- Experience with product analytics tools, such as Amplitude, Tableau, Looker, or similar;
- Solid understanding of the full user funnel for the web products: acquisition, activation, retention, as well as in-product behavior;
- Basic data engineering literacy: how tracking is set up, where data comes from, and how to manage uncovered zones;
- Ability to define and articulate requirements for developers or data engineers when enhancements to tracking or additional data acquisition are needed;
- English at a B2+ level.
Would be a plus
- Experience with BigQuery;
- You’ve built or significantly improved an analytics setup from scratch;
- Statistics background or hands-on experimentation experience;
- Experience building custom dashboards and conducting research from scratch.
