The Senior Offshore Accounting Operations Manager will lead the Philippines accounting delivery team, overseeing operational performance, staffing, and quality control. A U.S.-based accounting services organization is expanding its Philippines operations and is seeking a Senior Offshore Accounting Operations Manager to lead its accounting delivery team.
The role is ideal for an accounting leader who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with people leadership and operational execution. You will be responsible for maintaining high-quality accounting output, optimizing team capacity, developing talent, and establishing processes that allow the offshore operation to scale efficiently.
The successful candidate will bring experience from a multi-client accounting environment and have a proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and developing accounting professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee accounting delivery and operational performance of the Philippines team.
Manage staffing and capacity across multiple U.S. client accounts.
Analyze utilization, workload, deadlines, and staffing requirements.
Ensure engagements are appropriately staffed based on complexity and workload.
Review accounting work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
Resolve technical and workflow questions at the Philippines level whenever possible.
Establish standardized review procedures and quality expectations.
Develop SOPs and training documentation covering recurring accounting processes.
Partner with the recruiting function to evaluate accounting candidates and make hiring recommendations.
Interview candidates and assess technical accounting capabilities.
Design onboarding and training programs for new team members.
Mentor accounting staff and support their professional development.
Identify performance and retention risks and implement appropriate interventions.
Build scalable administrative systems for staffing, onboarding, training, and quality control.
Provide U.S.-based leadership with clear recommendations regarding staffing, delivery risks, and operational improvements.
Requirements
Qualifications
7+ years of professional accounting experience.
Previous leadership experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accounting Manager, Senior Manager, or similar.
Background in an accounting firm, CAS organization, outsourced accounting provider, or finance outsourcing environment.
Experience managing accounting teams of approximately 15–30 employees.
Experience serving U.S.-based clients and working with U.S. GAAP.
Strong technical accounting and financial close knowledge.
Experience reviewing accounting work and identifying errors independently.
Proven experience hiring accounting professionals and conducting technical interviews.
Experience creating or managing employee training and onboarding programs.
Demonstrated ability to develop SOPs, workflows, checklists, or other operational infrastructure.
Strong mentoring and people-development skills.
Excellent written communication and documentation abilities.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated ownership, persistence, and ability to solve problems independently.
Comfortable working U.S. business hours or overlapping U.S. hours.
Must be based in the Philippines.
Philippine CPA certification preferred.
