General Description:

The Senior Medical Manager is responsible for leading and supporting local medical initiatives, ensuring high-quality scientific communication and alignment with global and regional Medical Affairs strategies. The role contributes to the local adaptation and execution of therapeutic area strategy, ensuring alignment with global and regional medical plans.

One of their main responsibilities is to lead the generation of local evidence, to plan and advise

on data generation priorities, and to provide expert medical oversight for clinical trials and non-interventional studies in close collaboration with Clinical Operations and RWE teams.

The Senior Medical Manager works closely with local, regional, and global Medical Affairs colleagues and cross-functional partners to ensure accurate scientific exchange. The role collaborates closely with Commercial, Market Access and Regulatory functions and supports external scientific communication initiatives, including interactions with selected KOLs and centers of excellence, reinforcing the BeOne’s position as a trusted scientific partner.

The role reports to the Country Medical Director

Essential Functions of the Job:

EVIDENCE PLANNING, DATA GENERATION AND CLINICAL RESEARCH SUPPORT

  • Lead the identification of evidence gaps and support the development of local data generation initiatives, aligned with medical strategy, company objectives, and stakeholder needs.
  • Provide expert medical input into clinical study design to ensure feasibility, quality and successful execution of local clinical trials.
  • Support the identification and verification of investigators and sites for company-sponsored clinical trials.
  • Oversee and facilitate the end-to-end management of Investigator-Initiated Research (IIRs) proposals.
  • Monitor Non-Interventional Studies (NIS) and Investigator-Initiated trials (IITs) within the therapeutic area ensuring appropriate clinical trial conduct, in close partnership with Clinical Operations and RWE teams.
  • Drive to the interpretation, analysis and scientific communication of data generated from medical studies.

MANAGEMENT OF MEDICAL INITIATIVES

  • Lead selected local medical initiatives, related to communication and to medical information.
  • Contribute to the local adaptation of the Therapeutic Area strategy, ensuring alignment with global and regional medical plans.
  • Support lifecycle management activities from a medical perspective.

INTERNAL MEDICAL EDUCATION

  • Lead the design, development and delivery of internal medical training programs for medical colleagues and cross‑functional teams (e.g., commercial training).
  • Ensure up‑to‑date scientific knowledge internally and support capability‑building within the organization.

INTERNAL COLLABORATION AND CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

  • Establish strong relationships with the local Medical Affairs Department and collaborate with BeOne's European and Global Medical Affairs teams.
  • Communicate relevant medical insights and emerging clinical and scientific trends to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide scientific and medical expertise to internal cross-functional teams (e.g. Market Access, Marketing and Sales), as needed.
  • Support internal communication of scientific updates, relevant clinical data, and product-related insight

EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION

  • Identify, map and build strategic partnerships with key external stakeholders at the country level, including KOLs, research centers of excellence, scientific societies and advocacy organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Medical Affairs (3 years minimum) with a demonstrated ability to apply medical and scientific expertise in practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry ethical and compliance standards and the local healthcare system.
  • In-depth expertise and understanding of the relevant therapeutic area (Oncology and Hematology) and treatment pathways to effectively support medical activities at the country level.
  • Solid understanding of the design and execution of research studies and strategic implications.
  • Ability to identify and address unmet medical, educational and research needs within the medical community.
  • Well-developed organizational and planning skills, enabling effective prioritization, management of multiple competing tasks and successful strategy execution.
  • Ability to collect, analyze and synthesize insights to identify local market opportunities and inform data-driven decisions.
  • Strong commitment to compliance, scientific rigor and integrity.
  • Solid knowledge of local policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented mindset with ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Flexibility and resilience to navigate complexity and high-pressure situations.

Education Required:

MD, PharmD or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline is mandatory.

Computer Skills:

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, experienced with electronic CRM systems.

Other Qualifications:

Fluency in both verbal and written English; any other major European language is of advantage.

Travel:

About 10-20% business travel is expected; participation at major congress and selected medical meetings.

Salary Range Spain: 84,200.00 EUR - 105,200.00 EUR
