About the Role

The Sr. Manager of Crisis Management will assist with leading the global security program to ensure alignment with company objectives. This includes responsibility for integrating the crisis management functions across all business units and aligning them with overall business objectives. The Sr Manager of Crisis Management performs the full range of crisis management functions related to the protection of MiniMed’s tangible and intangible assets, to include: travel security, crisis preparedness and response, crisis incident management, education/training and driving a strong crisis management culture.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Provides day-to-day operational direction and leadership to all aspects of crisis management

  • Leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the global crisis management program, including the global crisis management framework, policies and standards. 

  • Leads the Core Crisis Management Team

  • Identifies Crisis Team members and builds and maintains team rosters to ensure all team positions are filled (Corporate Crisis Team, Facility Crisis Teams)

  • Facilitates and leads crisis calls. 

  • Designs and conducts crisis training with Crisis Teams and other employee groups, including tabletop exercises.

  • Provides presentations about crisis management topics to employee groups proactively and as requested.

  • Manages 3rd party tools/resources related to crisis management (Everbridge, Virtual Global Security Operations Center, etc.).  Trains Crisis Team members in the use of Crisis Management tools. 

  • Drives adoption of technology to enhance response capabilities.

  • Evaluates organizational readiness and identifies gaps.

  • Monitors global threats and emerging risks that may impact the organization.

  • Leads awareness campaigns related to Crisis Management, including the overall communications strategy.  Promotes a culture of preparedness and resilience. 

  • Supports duty of care obligations and regulatory expectations.

  • Develop and execute specific goals and objectives to support the initiatives of the Global Security and Crisis Management Team

  • Drives forward the Global Security plan to address anticipated or current threats and vulnerabilities

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees and key leaders

  • Maintains close relationships with law enforcement, governmental agencies, professional organizations, community emergency responders, intelligence, and private sector counterparts

  • Monitor for threats/disruptions to business operations and implement effective mitigation strategies

  • Collaborates internally and externally to solve challenging issues and provide solutions related to risk mitigation and event/incident management

  • Be an accountable role model who fosters an inclusive, diverse, and an equitable workplace that is demonstrated through actions

  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to site leadership and outside agencies on all crisis management matters

  • Other duties as assigned

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.

  • Previous experience as a Crisis Management Leader

  • Perform independently with a willingness to flex your schedule to meet needs and demands

  • Working knowledge of industrial crisis management programs supporting a wide variety of environments including office, manufacturing, and distribution centers

  • Demonstrates ability to solve problems by analyzing information to resolve complex security issues

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with travel security and journey management

  • Extensive operational crisis management knowledge and experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of tools and technology used for crisis management programs

  • Ability to successfully navigate in a complex matrixed organization

  • Strong communicator who displays exceptional presentation and persuasion skills (verbal and in writing) with complex issues

  • Ability to think both strategically as well as operationally

  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor under stressful situations

  • Strong problem solving, decision making and conflict resolution skills

  • Self-motivated and results orientated

  • Willing to travel (domestic and international), sometimes on short notice

  • In-depth knowledge of the global political, economic, and security environment; ability to identify international events of importance through multiple methods beyond the top headlines

  • Uses good judgment and proven ability to work with highly confidential information

  • Meticulous attention to detail, grammar, and style

  • Creative thinker, capable of spotting and forecasting emerging trends, threats, and tactics

  • Ability to build successful internal and external relationships and networks across cultures and industries

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks, while maintaining strict deadlines

  • Proven ability to operate effectively under adverse and stressful conditions with little supervision

  • Demonstrated analytical expertise; ability to accurately draw conclusions through synthesizing raw data and information from multiple unrelated sources into a finished comprehensive product

  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills; a great degree of emotional intelligence and maturity

  • Deep Crisis Management/Crisis Operations/Incident Management experience

  • Extensive leadership experience in same or similar positions

  • Extensive background in project management – certifications a bonus

  • Professional Security Certifications

  • Strong technical abilities; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$136,000.00 - $230,000.00

For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $150,000 - $256,000 USD.


 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Short Term Incentive (STI).
