Position Title: Senior Logistics Planning and Execution Specialist
Location: Springfield, OH, 45504

Position Summary:
The Senior Logistics Planning and Execution Specialist is a mission-critical role within the Flight Operations organization, responsible for leading high-tempo international logistics that support OCONUS defense service operations. This position ensures the secure, compliant, and rapid movement of sensitive aircraft components, mission equipment, and defense materials across global borders.
Leveraging deep operational management expertise and advanced understanding of military logistics frameworks, the specialist serves as the central integrator between flight operations, government agencies, freight partners, and in-theater military units. The role requires exceptional communication skills and precision planning to translate urgent mission requirements into executable logistics strategies that meet strict timelines and regulatory standards, including ITAR/EAR.
By proactively managing end-to-end export/import activities, mitigating risk, maintaining full visibility of shipments, and coordinating real-time execution in dynamic environments, the specialist directly contributes to sustained operational readiness and successful mission outcomes for OCONUS defense operations.
Required Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of international export/import activities for sensitive, mission-critical defense materials.
- Ensure full compliance with ITAR, EAR, DoD transportation regulations, and applicable international customs requirements.
- Coordinate real-time logistics operations with U.S. and partner-nation military logistics units to support OCONUS mission timelines.
- Develop, maintain, and execute rapid-response logistics plans for fast-moving, high-priority aircraft components and equipment.
- Serve as the primary communication link between Flight Operations, depot teams, freight forwarders, government agencies, and in-theater stakeholders.
- Monitor shipment status and provide continuous visibility, risk assessment, and issue resolution throughout the logistics life cycle.
- Manage and optimize transportation modes, routing strategies, and carrier performance to meet operational readiness requirements.
- Prepare, review, and validate all logistics documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely movement across borders.
- Lead coordination of contingency logistics responses to support urgent mission changes or emerging operational requirements.
- Provide expert guidance as SME on defense logistics processes, export controls, and operational best practices to internal teams and leadership.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in international logistics, transportation management, or defense supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in export/import regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and Defense Transportation Regulations.
- Proven experience supporting U.S. military or defense-related logistics activities, ideally in OCONUS or rapid-response environments.
- Strong understanding of multi-modal transportation, freight forwarding, customs processes, and global routing strategies.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to coordinate directly with military logisticians, government agencies, and international partners.
- Ability to manage fast-moving, sensitive shipments under tight deadlines and evolving mission requirements.
- Proficiency in logistics management systems, shipment visibility tools, and documentation systems (e.g., DD forms, commercial invoices, airway bills).
- Strong analytical and operational decision-making skills, including risk assessment and problem resolution in dynamic environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, if required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related flight Ops technical field; equivalent military logistics experience may be considered.
Clearance Level Required: Secret - Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance, as required for the role.
Travel Required: Yes - Up to 25%

Export Control / ITAR Requirement:
This position requires access to information and technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, employment is contingent upon meeting applicable export control eligibility requirements and compliance obligations.
Work Authorization Requirement:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Hourly wage: $70.00 - $75.00
Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
