We are seeking a Senior Learning Experience Designer (Contract) to support our Talent & Culture team on a 4‑month assignment. In this role, you will be the go‑to creative force for developing learning content and supporting to shape the employee experience across onboarding, data & AI upskilling, performance management, leadership development, and ongoing skill growth. 

You’ll act as both designer and builder—creating original materials, multimedia assets, and digital learning experiences using modern tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Synthesia, HeyGen, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva). Your work will blend marketing-inspired creativity with people-focused learning solutions to elevate how we onboard, develop, and support talent at TKO. 

You will collaborate closely with People + Culture business partners, Talent & L&D leaders, subject matter experts, and external partners to design, develop, deliver, and measure learning interventions that drive behavior change, improve performance, and enrich the employee experience. 

Portfolio Required: Please include samples that showcase digital learning experiences (eLearning, video, graphics, microlearning, etc.). 

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) 

The responsibilities below are focused on what is most critical for this 4‑month contract; not all will be required at all times.

Strategy & Partnership 

  • Quickly ramp up on in-flight projects and priorities across onboarding, data & AI, performance management, leadership, and culture initiatives. 

  • Partner with Director-level People + Culture leaders to translate business needs into clear learning objectives, journeys, and deliverables aligned with company goals. 

  • Apply adult learning theory, instructional design best practices, and UX principles to create experiences that drive behavior change and skill growth. 

  • Architect and refine learning and talent journeys (e.g., onboarding flows, performance check-ins, career-path modules) that align to employee lifecycle touchpoints. 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to subject matter experts, helping them package content, standardize inputs, and co-create engaging learning solutions. 

Design & Development (Primary Focus) 

  • Own the end-to-end creative process for assigned projects—from concept and storyboarding through production, publishing, and light performance tracking. 

  • Design and develop storyboards, scripts, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and full e-learning modules that are visually polished and on-brand. 

  • Build interactive, immersive digital learning experiences using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline / Rise,  Synthesia, and HeyGen. 

  • Create supporting deliverables such as job aids, quick reference guides, infographics, performance support tools, and microlearning modules to reinforce key messages. 

  • Develop branded multimedia assets (graphics, video, audio, animations) using tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects), Canva, or equivalent platforms. 

Measurement, Quality, and Continuous Improvement 

  • Publish, test, and QC content (SCORM, xAPI, HTML5), integrating it into LMS or learning platforms and maintaining version control. 

  • Monitor usage, completion rates, learner engagement, and feedback for assigned assets and journeys; propose iterative improvements during the contract period. 

  • Audit and refresh existing content to keep it current, relevant, and aligned with evolving business needs and brand standards. 

  • Ensure all learning and brand assets adhere to standards for branding, quality, accessibility, and version control. 

  • Maintain clear documentation, templates, and design artifacts for a smooth handoff back to the core team at the end of the contract. 

Collaboration & Delivery 

  • Collaborate with People + Culture Business Partners, Talent & L&D, performance management, legal/compliance, and external vendors to execute learning solutions on time and with high quality. 

  • Support facilitation of virtual instructor-led training (vILT), live webinars, or blended learning experiences as needed (e.g., moderating sessions, managing tech, or co-facilitating content you’ve designed). 

  • Troubleshoot basic technical or content issues in your designs and partner with the team or vendors for more complex fixes. 

What You Bring (Qualifications & Skills) 

Experience & Education 

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, learning & development, or related roles (corporate or agency). 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 

  • Experience working within or closely with HR / People functions, ideally on initiatives related to onboarding, performance, culture, or talent development. 

Technical Skills & Tools 

  • Expert-level proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline / Rise, Synthesia, HeyGen or similar platforms. 

  • Strong experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects), Canva or equivalent tools for asset creation and editing. 

  • Experience with video/audio production and editing (from script to final asset). 

  • Familiarity with AI / generative media tools (e.g., Synthesia or similar) is a plus. 

  • Comfort working with LMS / learning platforms, SCORM / xAPI standards, and publishing/tracking workflows. 

  • Understanding of accessibility standards, responsive design, and mobile learning best practices. 

  • Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate on design ideas with clear annotations and rationale.

  • Solid project management skills: organized, able to manage multiple workstreams, timelines, and shifting priorities over a short contract window.

  • Empathy for employees and a strong employee experience mindset, championing accessibility, inclusivity, and iterative improvement. 

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable leading work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where you may need to independently move projects forward. 

This is a contractor role designed to provide focused, high-impact support on key learning and talent projects over a 4‑month period. At the conclusion of the contract, work products and documentation will be transitioned to the core Talent & Culture team.
