Senior Full-Stack Developer – Java & Integrations

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join our Paasport engineering team and help build, enhance, and support integration-driven solutions connecting applications, platforms, and services across complex environments.

This role is a strong fit for an experienced Java engineer who enjoys working beyond individual features, designing reliable integrations, solving complex data and system interaction challenges, and contributing across the full software development lifecycle. You’ll work in a collaborative, remote-first environment alongside engineers, QA professionals, product stakeholders, and technical leaders.

🌐Work hours: Monday to Friday, 7.00 am to 4.00 pm PST

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and integration services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and support integrations between internal and external systems using APIs, web services, messaging, and integration frameworks.
• Work with Apache Camel and integration patterns such as routing, transformation, error handling, split/aggregate, and dynamic routing.
• Design and consume REST and SOAP APIs, working with formats such as JSON and XML.
• Develop and optimize data models, queries, and persistence solutions using relational and/or document databases.
• Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues across distributed systems.
• Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support.
• Apply secure coding, performance, maintainability, and scalability best practices.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering, QA, product, and business teams.
• Contribute to technical discussions, engineering standards, and continuous improvement initiatives across the team.

What You Need to Succeed

Must-haves

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Java.
• Strong experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs and web services.
• Solid understanding of backend architecture and distributed application concepts.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including data modeling and SQL.
• Experience working throughout the software development lifecycle in production environments.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a distributed, cross-functional team.
• Advanced English communication skills.

Strongly Preferred

• Hands-on experience with Apache Camel or similar integration frameworks.
• Experience implementing enterprise integration patterns such as routing, transformation, error handling, split/aggregate, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience integrating SaaS platforms, enterprise applications, or third-party services.
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with messaging or event-driven architectures.

Nice to Have

• Experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
