Senior Frontend Engineer

We are looking for a senior engineer who thrives on ownership, someone who can drive work to completion independently, navigate legacy and modern codebases with equal confidence, and collaborate async across a distributed team. If you're energized by real complexity, not just greenfield work, this role is for you.

THE ROLE

• Own significant parts of our frontend architecture, including shared component library strategy and key product surfaces.
  

• Maintain and evolve a legacy React codebase alongside a modern Next.js (App Router) application. Comfort working across different generations of the stack is essential.
  

• Build and ship features with TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and component libraries including Radix UI and Open edX Paragon.
  

• Integrate AI capabilities using the Vercel AI SDK and OpenAI APIs.
  

• Work with Zustand, Jotai, and TanStack Query for state and data-fetching patterns.
  

• Develop and publish reusable React component packages (footer, header, shared UI) in a monorepo environment.
  

• Implement i18n for RTL/LTR layouts (Arabic + English) using next-intl.
  

• Collaborate on design system decisions across custom components and Paragon.
  

• Write tested, accessible, production-grade code with React Hook Form, Zod, and Jest/Testing Library.
  

Requirements

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of frontend experience with strong Next.js and React fundamentals.
  

• Proven ability to operate independently in a remote, async environment, you drive tasks to completion without close supervision.
  

• Strong async communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across multiple timezones.
  

• Comfortable context-switching across multiple projects and tech stacks simultaneously.
  

• Proficiency with TypeScript and modern CSS and Tailwind v3/v4.
  

• Experience maintaining or modernizing older codebases, not just building greenfield.
  

• Attention to RTL layout and accessibility requirements.
  

• Experience with Open edX or Paragon is a strong plus.
  

• Comfortable in monorepo environments and with NPM package publishing.
  

• Familiarity with AI SDK integration or LLM-powered UI is a bonus.
  

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with Open edX platform or the Paragon design system.
  

• Background in AI-powered or LLM-integrated UI.
  

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
