Senior Financial Analyst, Loan Transaction Network
Department: Loan Transaction Network
Reports to: Managing Director of LTN
Job Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst owns loan transactions end-to-end within the Loan Transaction Network — from initial tape review through modeling, pool construction, pricing, and client delivery. This role requires strong analytical judgment on credit characteristics, pricing strategy, and pool structure, and the ability to translate market-level trends in buyer demand, seller liquidity needs, and transaction activity into pricing and structuring decisions that shape deal outcomes for clients. The analyst works closely with the Managing Director and broader LTN team to advance deal strategy and expand the network's analytical capabilities across asset classes.
Responsibilities
- Own transactions end-to-end: tape review → modeling → pool construction → pricing → client delivery, supporting the client’s ultimate buy/sell/participation decision
- Evaluate and analyze credit characteristics of loan portfolios across multiple asset classes, tailoring analytical approach to each client’s strategy and objectives
- Build and run cash flow models (using ZM Analytics or equivalent tools) to produce pricing, yield, and structural analysis
- Construct loan pools aligned with buyer participation interests and objectives
- Price loan pools in line with current market and transaction activity — tracking buyer demand trends, seller motivations and liquidity needs, and comparable deal activity to inform pricing and structuring strategy
- Maintain and update modeling assumptions and analytical methodologies across asset classes as market conditions evolve
- Build new models and analytical frameworks to support entry into new asset classes
- Handle specialized or non-standard analytical requests (e.g., CDFI-related analysis)
- Contribute to internal tools and process improvements that increase team visibility, efficiency, and deal execution probability
- Communicate directly with clients to walk through analysis, answer questions on modeling and pricing, and support their decision-making on a transaction
- Partner with the Managing Director and broader LTN team on deal strategy, methodology, and market positioning
- Step in on cross-team deal support and communication with participation parties as needed
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in loan portfolio analysis, cash flow modeling, or credit analysis, ideally across multiple asset classes
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with sound judgment on credit risk, pricing, and structural characteristics of loan pools
- Experience with loan-level cash flow modeling tools required; familiarity with ZM Analytics specifically a plus
- Advanced Excel proficiency; SQL or other data tools a plus
- Strong understanding of fixed income and asset-liability management concepts (yield, duration, prepayment behavior, credit risk)
- Ability to independently manage multiple live transactions and communicate analysis clearly to internal stakeholders and clients
- Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy and ownership over deal outcomes
Minimum Education Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, data science, or a related quantitative field
