The Senior Finance Associate will manage financial functions including payment gateway reconciliations, inventory accounting, and e-Invoicing compliance. They will also lead cash flow forecasting and support the integration of new ERP or accounting systems.
About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Finance Associate to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will manage a broad spectrum of financial functions, with a primary emphasis on high-volume payment gateway reconciliations, inventory management, e-Invoicing compliance, and cash flow forecasting. You will also play a key role in supporting our upcoming ERP/accounting system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconciliation & Revenue Accounting: Perform and monitor daily/monthly sales receipts reconciliation between online payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, FPX, payment terminals), e-commerce platforms, and internal accounting systems. Resolve payout discrepancies promptly.
- Inventory & Cost Accounting: Oversee inventory accounting, stock movement reconciliations, landed cost calculations, and physical stock-count audits to ensure accurate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reporting.
- E-Invoicing Compliance: Lead the implementation and monthly submission of e-Invoices to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN), ensuring full statutory adherence.
- Cash Flow Management: Prepare weekly and monthly rolling cash flow projections, monitor working capital, and optimize operational cash flow.
- Financial Reporting & Consolidation: Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and financial statements for group consolidation.
- System Integration: Actively participate in the evaluation, migration, and integration of new accounting software/ERP systems to streamline finance operations.
- Tax & Audit: Prepare corporate tax computations, ensure tax compliance, and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax agents.
- Process Improvement & Controls: Propose and execute process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, internal controls, and data integrity.
Qualifications
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA, MIA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience. Experience in retail, e-commerce, or inventory-heavy industries is strongly preferred; audit experience is a plus.
- Strong hands-on experience in payment gateway reconciliations and inventory/cost accounting.
- Direct experience or strong working knowledge of Malaysian LHDN e-Invoicing requirements.
- Solid knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and local tax regulations.
- Systems Expertise: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas) and experience with accounting ERP systems (e.g., AutoCount, SAP, QuickBooks Online). Prior experience with system implementations or integrations is a major advantage.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced growth environment.
