About the Job
As a Senior FinOps Engineer at Aspire, you will work closely with Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Finance, and business stakeholders to monitor cloud spend, improve cost visibility, and identify opportunities to optimize cloud infrastructure costs. You will help drive cost-efficient cloud operations through data analysis, forecasting, governance, and continuous optimization while supporting the adoption of FinOps best practices.
What You Will Do
Monitor and analyze cloud spend, usage, budgets, and cost trends to identify optimization opportunities.
Identify and implement cost optimization initiatives, including resource rightsizing and removal of unused or underutilized resources.
Manage cost allocation, tagging, budgeting, forecasting, and showback/chargeback practices.
Develop cloud cost dashboards, reports, and actionable optimization recommendations.
Optimize cloud commitment and discount strategies, including Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
Monitor cost anomalies, budget variances, and unexpected changes in cloud spending.
Collaborate with Engineering and DevOps teams to embed cost efficiency into cloud architecture and operational practices.
Define and monitor FinOps KPIs and continuously improve FinOps governance, processes, and standards.
What You Will Need
5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, FinOps, or a related field.
2+ years of hands-on experience in cloud cost management and optimization.
Strong hands-on experience with GCP, including GCP pricing, billing, usage, and cost management.
Experience with cloud cost management tools, dashboards, reporting, and financial analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with Excel and SQL required.
Scripting experience is preferred.
Good understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure, and cloud services.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, tagging, and showback/chargeback practices.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work closely with technical and business teams to drive cloud cost efficiency.
FinOps Certified Practitioner is preferred.
Relevant GCP certifications is preferred.
Cloud cost savings and optimization delivered.
Improved cloud cost visibility, allocation accuracy, and forecasting.
Reduction in unused and underutilized cloud resources.
Increased adoption of FinOps standards, governance, and cost optimization practices.
Awareness or knowledge of IT security best practices as defined by ISO/SOC or similar.
