Meet Fetch Engineering
At Fetch, engineering is driven by curiosity, ownership, and a bias toward action. We operate in complex problem spaces where the right answer is not always clear, and success depends on adaptability, critical thinking, and informed decision-making. Our engineers are comfortable navigating ambiguity, understanding tradeoffs, gathering context, and turning uncertainty into progress while maintaining high technical standards.
Engineers at Fetch take pride in building reliable, scalable systems that serve millions of users. You will contribute directly to the codebase, collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, and help shape best practices that elevate the quality of our work. We foster a culture of mentorship and collaboration, where engineers grow by learning from one another and holding a high bar for quality, reliability, and impact.
About the Role:
Fetch is scaling the systems that power tens of millions of users and hundreds of millions of transactions every month. We are hiring a Senior Engineering Manager, User Growth to lead the team responsible for building Fetch's loyalty and retention platform.
The Loyalty team builds the systems and experiences that keep users engaged with Fetch over the long term. We design and operate the retention mechanics that reward sustained engagement, such as status and tiers, achievements, streaks, and monthly programs that give users a reason to come back and keep earning across Fetch. The work spans the backend services that track progress and award incentives, and the native iOS and Android experiences users interact with every day. It sits at the core of Fetch's engagement strategy, driving cross-product adoption and turning active users into loyal, lifelong ones, and requires reliable, scalable infrastructure to support continuous experimentation and rapid iteration.
As a Senior Engineering Manager on the Loyalty team, you will lead a team of backend, native iOS, and native Android engineers building and evolving everything from backend services to the mobile features that power how users earn, maintain, and benefit from status across Fetch. You will partner closely with Product and Design to shape the user experience, and with Data and Platform teams to deliver new retention mechanics while ensuring the long-term scalability, reliability, and operational health of the platform.
This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.

- Be accountable for the people, health, and outcomes of your team, ensuring they are working on the right problems and delivering results
- Partner with senior engineers to guide system design, architecture, and technical decision-making across backend and mobile
- Own delivery for the Loyalty roadmap, ensuring predictable execution and high-quality outcomes
- Translate product and business goals into clear technical plans and milestones
- Collaborate closely with Product and Design to shape roadmaps, scope initiatives, and define success metrics for retention and engagement
- Partner with Data, Analytics, and ML teams on targeting, experimentation, and measurement
- Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, observable, and resilient under high traffic and transaction volume
- Balance delivery velocity with long-term technical health and operational excellence
- Improve team processes, reduce operational overhead, and drive continuous improvement
- Communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders and leadership
- Foster a culture of ownership, quality, and accountability
- Support engineers in using AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code to improve development velocity, documentation, and code quality
In your Toolbox (Minimum Requirements):
- 3+ years of experience managing software engineers
- Strong technical background in backend or native mobile development, with the ability to lead engineers across both
- Experience delivering customer-facing products at scale
- Ability to evaluate system design, architecture, and technical tradeoffs
- Proven track record of leading teams to ship complex projects
- Experience partnering with product, design, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Commitment to engineering best practices including testing, observability, and incident management
- Ability to leverage AI tools to support engineering productivity, code quality, and team efficiency
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered
Nice to haves/Bonus Points (Preferred Requirements):
- Experience working on loyalty, retention, engagement, growth, or personalization systems
- Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and analytics pipelines
- Experience leading teams that span backend and native mobile (iOS and Android)
- Experience supporting high-throughput, low-latency services
- Prior experience scaling teams or systems through periods of rapid growth
- Strong programming background in Go, Java, Swift, Kotlin, or similar languages
