About the Role

We are looking for a Senior EDI Developer to join a US-based IT services and technology consultancy on a 10-month W-2 contract engagement. In this fully remote role, you will perform solution-level technical analysis, design, and implementation of EDI integrations, while leading the day-to-day technical execution of integration and API projects across globally distributed teams.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

What You'll Do

  • Translate solution designs into production-ready EDI integration implementations.

  • Ensure code quality and adherence to development standards across all deliverables.

  • Lead technical work streams and provide hands-on technical guidance to the broader team.

  • Mentor junior developers and conduct thorough code reviews.

  • Collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams in a remote-first environment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in a timely and methodical manner.

What We're Looking For

Required — Dealbreakers:

  • 8–10 years of experience with IBM Sterling Integrator (v5.2.6 or above).

  • Proven EDI development, maintenance, support, and monitoring experience.

  • Mastery of mapping formats: X12, EDIFACT, XML, cXML, CSV, JSON, and Flat Files.

  • Experience with communication protocols: FTP, SFTP, AS2, and VAN.

  • Proficiency with DB2, SQL, XML, XSLT, Web Services, and REST APIs.

  • Solid understanding of EDI architecture including encryption, authentication, monitoring, scalability, and availability.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Also Required:

  • Ability to lead technical work streams, mentor junior developers, and conduct code reviews.

  • Experience collaborating with globally distributed teams and providing technical leadership.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Availability for a W-2 contract engagement (not C2C or 1099).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Rate: Up to $60/hour on W-2.

  • Contract Duration: 10 months.

  • Employment Classification: W-2 contract.

Location

  • 100% Remote — open to candidates based anywhere in the United States.

  • Visa sponsorship: Not available. Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
