You will own the platform infrastructure, including Kubernetes, delivery pipelines, and cloud resources across multiple regions. The role involves leading infrastructure migrations, managing production databases, and optimizing cloud costs.

Senior DevOps Engineer (Platform)

Physitrack PLC · Fully remote, based in Poland Contract: B2B contractor, EUR 8,000 per month

About us

Physitrack PLC builds digital health software used by clinicians, physiotherapists and employers in over 100 countries. Our two product lines, Physitrack (exercise prescription, telehealth and patient engagement) and Champion Health (workplace wellbeing), run on a multi-region AWS platform serving Europe, the UK, North America, Australia and the Middle East.

We are ISO 27001:2022 certified. Healthcare data brings real constraints: data residency, auditability and a low tolerance for downtime. That shapes how we build.

The role

You will own the platform our engineers ship on: the Kubernetes estate, the delivery pipelines and the cloud infrastructure under both product lines. It is a small, senior group with a wide surface area, so you will be making architectural calls rather than picking up tickets someone else has scoped.

A large part of the work is migration and consolidation. Bringing acquired products onto shared infrastructure, moving workloads between providers and regions, and retiring what we no longer need. If you enjoy taking a system someone else built and landing it cleanly on your own platform, this will suit you.

We are recruiting two senior infrastructure roles. This one covers the platform, the delivery pipelines and the migrations. The other, Senior DevOps Engineer (Security and Reliability), covers the edge, observability and cloud security posture. Apply for whichever fits, and tell us if both do.

What you will do

  • Run and evolve our multi-region AWS and EKS platform, managed as code in Terraform and deployed through ArgoCD

  • Own CI/CD across our repositories, on CircleCI and GitHub Actions, and keep the path from commit to production fast and boring

  • Lead infrastructure migrations end to end: containerising applications, moving databases between providers and regions, and cutting over with verification and a rollback plan

  • Manage PostgreSQL and RDS at production scale, covering version upgrades, instance sizing and performance work

  • Keep our Ruby on Rails runtime current, including framework upgrades, performance tuning and autoscaling behaviour

  • Own cloud cost: rightsizing, autoscaling, savings plan utilisation and a monthly cost report to Finance

  • Run disaster recovery testing and incident readiness drills, and fix what they expose

  • Act as the infrastructure point of contact for engineering, security and commercial colleagues

What we are looking for

Essential

  • 5+ years in DevOps, platform or infrastructure engineering, with meaningful time on AWS

  • Production Kubernetes, ideally EKS, well beyond having deployed to a cluster

  • Strong Terraform and an infrastructure as code instinct

  • You have run a real database migration or provider cutover, and can explain how you verified it

  • Comfortable with Linux, containers and GitOps

  • Solid scripting in Python, Go, Bash or similar, and enough application literacy to debug across the stack

  • English at a working professional level. Our engineering team is international

Nice to have

  • Ruby on Rails familiarity. Our main application is Rails

  • Cost optimisation or FinOps experience at scale

  • A regulated industry background: ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA or GDPR

  • Infrastructure consolidation following an acquisition

  • Polish. The immediate team is Warsaw based, though the company works in English

How we work

  • On-call. We run a 24/7 rotation through PagerDuty, with documented playbooks and readiness checklists. Participation is agreed with you rather than assumed, and separately compensated.

  • Cadence. Written async updates, a fortnightly planning touchpoint and a regular infrastructure and security sync. You set your own hours and choose your own tools.

  • Documentation. Runbooks, decision records and incident write ups are part of the work, not an afterthought.

  • Autonomy. Small team, wide scope, very little process between you and a decision.
