The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for building, maintaining, and deploying infrastructure and applications using automation and orchestration throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develops and deploys infrastructure as code using automation and orchestration tools in cloud environments.
- Builds CI/CD pipelines while incorporating automated testing and vulnerability scanning for hosted and containerized applications.
- Establish, maintain, and evolve robust CI/CD pipelines with technologies like Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Ansible and Terraform.
- Monitors CI/CD builds while analyzing trends and making performance improvements to build times.
- Build, scale, and secure critical applications on multiple cloud-native architectures using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Manage incidents and outages within the application and handle production support in general.
- Responsible for building update and upgrade packages and installation of the packages for hosted clients and delivering the packages to the licensed clients.
- Support and maintenance of all daily builds and internal sites.
- Support of all product servers to ensure acceptable tech stacks and resources are in place.
- Work closely with our Architects, Engineers, Product Owners and Application Leads to engineer and build automated solutions.
- Work with the development team to deploy and manage tools that support SDLC automation, configuration management and release management.
Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience in a DevOps or Software/Systems engineering role in a Cloud environment
- Working experience with CD/CI tools (Jenkins, etc.)
- Working experience with container services such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Working experience with build tools (Ant, Maven, Gradle)
- Working Experience leveraging infrastructure as code and infra-automation tools such as Terraform
- Working experience with config management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
- Working experience with source management (GitHub, Bit Bucket, GitLab)
- Working experience with deploy artifacts such as Artifactory
- Prior experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational database such as SQL Server
- Experience in cross-platform scripting languages and build tools (ANT, Groovy, PowerShell, Python, Angular, etc.).
- Experience with more than one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
- Experience troubleshooting software upgrades and installs
- Experience supporting tech stack Windows, Java, SQL Server, JBoss or TC server, RabbitMQ
- Must work well under pressure to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines within short time constraints
- After hours support and additional peak time support may be necessary
Preferred Skills
- Related Cloud Certifications.
- Running Docker containers on Kubernetes (EKS) and Istio.
- Monitoring production services using tools (Azure App Insights, Datadog, Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus and PagerDuty.)
- Linux/Unix experience a plus.
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Location
This position may work from any of the following locations: Hybrid office schedule if within 75 miles of the Houston office. Remote with the ability to travel at least 5% from the following states: Texas if more than 75 miles from the office location, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Utah.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. The daily schedule may vary from 7 am – 4 pm, 8 am – 5 pm or 9 am – 6 pm, and occasional afterhours or weekend work may be required. Hours may vary or exceed 40 in any given week depending on the needs of the business.
Travel
Limited travel (up to 10%) is expected for this position.
