Role
Exante360 is seeking a Senior Designer on our Mission Critical team to lead the design and coordination of complex low-voltage technology systems for data centers and other mission critical facilities, where uptime, redundancy, and security are paramount. As a technical leader, you'll guide and mentor design staff, set design standards, and collaborate with project managers, BIM staff, clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to deliver coordinated, construction-ready designs across multiple concurrent projects.

Ideal candidates are proactive in learning and applying new technologies, comfortable integrating AI tools into their workflow where appropriate, and capable of combining technology with sound business judgment to deliver exceptional results.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead the design and coordination of ICT and security technology systems for mission critical facilities across multiple concurrent projects, meeting project requirements, budgets, and schedules.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Division 27 and 28 design solutions, annotated plans, schematics, and specifications, including high-density fiber backbones, redundant pathways and diverse entrance facilities, and layered physical security.
Establish project design criteria, scope narratives, and basis of design documents aligned with each client’s redundancy, resiliency, and availability requirements.
Lead quality control reviews of drawing packages, specifications, submittals, and RFI responses, and provide technical direction to design staff throughout all project phases.
Develop and maintain Exante360 design standards, QA/QC protocols, documentation templates, and Division 27 and 28 specification templates aligned with current codes, technologies, and best practices.
Act as a primary technical liaison with clients, owner’s representatives, architects, engineers, and contractors, translating user requirements into clear, coordinated design solutions.
Perform advanced model coordination, including clash detection and constructability reviews of dense white space, cable tray, and MEP conditions.
Mentor Designers I–II and BIM staff through structured training, technical reviews, and skill development initiatives.
Partner with Project Managers on project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
Provide field support through site assessments, inspections, punch walks, and commissioning, including work within live, operational facilities under owner procedures.
Research and evaluate new technologies, methodologies, and design automation or workflow tools that advance Exante360’s technical capabilities, productivity, and consistency.
What We’re Looking For
Expert technical understanding and design experience across a broad range of systems, including structured cabling, electronic security, audiovisual, and wireless networks, as well as coordinating ICT and security systems integration with fire alarm, elevators, and other relevant 3rd party systems.
Working knowledge of mission critical design standards and concepts, including ANSI/TIA-942, BICSI 002, Uptime Institute Tier classifications, redundancy models (N, N+1, 2N), and concurrent maintainability.
Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit, including custom family creation and parameter management, complex system modeling, sheet set management, view templates, clash management, and ACC cloud work-sharing.
Proficiency with coordination platforms such as Autodesk Navisworks, Revizto, or similar tools.
Ability to interpret and enforce codes and standards such as IBC, NEC, NFPA, EIA/TIA, and BICSI.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, installation practices, and industry documentation standards.
Demonstrated leadership in mentoring designers, managing priorities, and maintaining design quality under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication, organization, and client-facing skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining accountability and delivering high quality work.
Ability to meet client site access, background, and safety requirements for work in active data center and critical facility environments.
Education/Experience Requirements
8–15 years of progressive experience in low-voltage ICT and security system design and documentation.
Experience designing for data centers or other mission critical facilities strongly preferred.
5+ years of direct experience with construction and field coordination.
5+ years of Autodesk Revit modeling and design documentation experience, with strong working knowledge of current versions.
Experience developing Division 27 and 28 specifications and performing quality reviews for conformance between drawings and specifications.
Proven experience leading or mentoring design teams.
Industry certifications strongly preferred, such as BICSI RCDD or DCDC, ASIS PSP, AVIXA CTS, or Uptime Institute ATD.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related field preferred.
Demonstrated experience using AI, automation, data analytics, or other emerging technologies to improve efficiency, decision-making, collaboration, or business outcomes.
What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
Leads design and coordination on multiple concurrent mission critical projects from design development through construction administration, meeting client standards and project schedules.
Contributes to Exante360’s Division 27 and 28 specification templates, design standards, and QA/QC protocols for mission critical work.
Delivers coordinated, clash-checked construction documents with minimal revisions.
Becomes a go-to technical mentor for Designers and BIM staff on the Mission Critical team.
