In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end design execution on major data center developments, customer deployments, phased expansions, or complex operational upgrades. Working within a dynamic team, you will lead multidisciplinary design delivery across the full project lifecycle, ensuring technical decisions align with safety, customer, commercial, program, resilience, and sustainability goals.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

In this role, you will:

  • Own End-to-End Design Execution: Define the design delivery strategy and lead major facility, campus phase, or complex regional programs from concept development through construction, commissioning, and handover.

  • Direct Multidisciplinary Teams: Coordinate external consultants, equipment manufacturers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to integrate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and security systems.

  • Drive Risk & Financial Assurance: Oversee design reporting, risk management, and value engineering while leading the resolution of technical, commercial, and program risks.

  • Partner & Mentor: Serve as the principal design partner across internal divisions (Construction, Operations, Security, Sustainability) while mentoring Design Managers to elevate regional practices.

What You’ll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant Experience: Typically 10+ years of experience with substantial accountability for complex data center or mission-critical capital projects.

  • Technical Mastery: Deep multidisciplinary understanding of critical-facility systems, consultant governance, codes/standards, permitting, and global vs. local compliance.

  • Influence & Leadership: Strong commercial awareness to balance technical trade-offs against costs alongside proven capability to mentor and lead cross-functional teams through influence.

  • Education & Travel: A four-year college degree in Architecture, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, U.S. Citizenship, and the ability to travel up to 25%.

What We Offer (Benefits)

  • Compensation: Competitive compensation and total rewards packages aligned with your experience level.

  • Work-Life Balance: Generous paid time off, holiday schedules, and flexible work options to support work-life balance.

  • Health & Well-being: Comprehensive health, wellness, and retirement plans.

  • Growth: Opportunities for continuous learning, technical leadership, and career growth within Iron Mountain.

Reasonably expected salary range: $123,500.00 - $164,700.00

Please note that an employee's starting salary may vary based on a variety of factors. Where State, Municipal, Provincial, Territorial or other legal minimum wages exceed the federal minimum wage, employees are entitled to the higher rate.
