Position Summary

Responsible for development and oversight of the business analytics portfolio of database assets, including Snowflake/SQL data marts, custom views and stored procedures used by the business analysts in the development of Power BI dashboards, monitoring reports, business plans and ad-hoc analysis.  Acts as technical liaison and consultant to Database Development team and Business Intelligence teams, as well as maintaining relationships with internal and external network partners in a value-add relationship.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops/manages database using a variety database management tools with ability to convert existing databases. Creates solutions to automate every day processes; Manage data; Creates macros to automate tasks.
  • Responsible for application design, development, coding for enhancements and fixes, testing, and performance tuning
  • Serves as technical lead for reporting/data analysis services. Creates, runs, maintains and documents reports on an as-needed basis.
  • Manages active directory security.
  • Works with project teams to determine the feasibility and requirements on assigned projects. Works closely with senior management, project managers, and clients to sustain a pragmatic and aggressive release plan for all projects.
  • As needed, creates, maintains, and integrates interfaces and web services for new and existing data sources and applications. Defines architecture and standards for web services and interfaces.
  • Uses and helps to define best practices in all areas of software/application development, including design, coding, documentation, testing & implementation. Evaluates/documents techniques in support of improving the way services are produced and delivered.
  • Produces and maintains comprehensive, usable documentation per project.
  • Creates and performs unit and acceptance tests on all newly developed or modified code. Leads peer code reviews. Maintains source code in appropriate repositories.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

Experience

  • Approximately 4 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrable expertise in working with and integrating databases (Snowflake or MS SQL) into web applications and/or into designated data warehouses.
  • Expertise with standard tools used in software development, including IDEs, issue trackers, version control systems, and data modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with application development life cycle methodologies needed to support integration of software applications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to gain knowledge of and master new technologies quickly and thoroughly.
  • Ability to multitask, communicate clearly, work independently, provide accurate time estimates, and maintain rigorous attention to detail.
