Senior Data Engineer

xScion is seeking a Data Engineer to support a high-volume file integration migration program using existing Terraform, Python, and AWS Transfer Family pipelines. This role is focused on delivery acceleration, automation support, and implementation of assigned file flows within an existing cloud migration framework.

As a Data Engineer, You Will:

• Build and migrate assigned file integrations using existing Terraform and Python automation pipelines.
• Support AWS Transfer Family-based SFTP/S3 file movement and related cloud integration tasks.
• Execute migration tasks for a defined block of file flows, working within architecture and compliance guidelines.
• Troubleshoot integration issues, transfer failures, and dependency conflicts in hybrid environments.
• Support validation, testing, cutover, and stabilization for migrated file flows.
• Collaborate closely with analysts, SMEs, and product owners to ensure accurate implementation.
• Maintain traceability, documentation, and operational readiness for assigned flows.
• Participate in daily scrum and coordinate work transparently with internal teams.

To Be Successful, You Need: 

• US Citizenship required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business IT Management or equivalent practical experience  
  
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform
• Strong hands-on experience with Python
• Experience working with AWS services, especially AWS Transfer Family, SFTP, and S3
• Understanding of cloud foundation concepts and infrastructure-as-code delivery
• Experience delivering integration or migration work in complex environments
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Sterling File Gateway
• Experience in regulated or highly controlled environments
• Familiarity with security, traceability, and architecture compliance requirements
• Prior experience supporting file-transfer modernization or hybrid migration programs.
