AI Summary

Build and own end-to-end Azure data platforms, pipelines, and models using SQL Server and Databricks. Transform complex data problems into maintainable solutions while challenging requirements to ensure maximum client impact.

Maybe you call yourself a Senior Data Engineer. Or an Azure wrangler, a Databricks whisperer, a senior "works-on-my-cluster" engineer… or maybe you just call yourself Sam. Whatever you call yourself, you'll join our Delivery team and build the data platforms our clients actually run on, the pipelines and models behind the moment a client leans forward and says "wait, show me that again."

What we offer

  • A salary between €3,900–€5,000 per month + profit sharing + pension (NL only) + €5,000 annual development budget + 8% holiday allowance (NL only) + €500 home-office budget + a laptop + team outings + informal drinks + the occasional well-earned "Hey, well done Buddy!".

  • Real work/life balance: 25 vacation days + public holidays + special leave + the option to buy up to 10 extra days + a sabbatical of up to 4 months.

  • Work remotely: as long as it’s within a similar time zone, and you attend every quarterly company meeting in the Netherlands or abroad.

  • Two company trips abroad each year, where we connect, have serious fun, and keep making All Your BI better together.

  • An entrepreneurial culture where you own your success, shape your own roles, work on your own ideas, and have real influence on our growth.

  • Real autonomy: under Holacracy, authority sits with the people doing the work, you make the calls in your domain, no hovering, no permission-seeking.

  • And yes, FUN. We take our work seriously, ourselves a little less so.

About us

All Your BI is a remote-first data agency based in Rotterdam. Since 2019 we've grown from a boutique consultancy into an international data team of more than 60 data heroes spread across Europe. We deliver managed BI services for logistics and industrial companies, helping reduce data waste and move businesses forward. We live for the WOW moment, that sparkle in users' eyes when they gain new insights and discover opportunities. We work according to Holacracy: little hierarchy, lots of ownership. Serious work. Serious fun.

What you'll do

  • Build and own the Azure data platforms our client accounts run on, SQL Server, Databricks, pipelines end to end.

  • Design the data models that keep it all maintainable, and Kimball dimensional modelling, where it earns its place.

  • Challenge a requirement when it doesn't add up, and bring a better option. We'd rather you push back than build the wrong thing well.

  • Take a genuinely messy, complex data problem and turn it into something the client, and the team, can actually follow.

  • Reason about what the work changes for the client, not just the ticket in front of you.

What you bring

  • Attitude: honest and constructive, low-ego. You have the real conversations, and you'll challenge something that doesn't make sense, kindly, with an alternative in hand.

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer, designing, building, and maintaining scalable, reliable data platforms and pipelines in production environments.

  • Azure data engineering: hands-on across the Azure stack, including SQL Server and Databricks. You build platforms, not just wire them together.

  • Data modelling: Kimball dimensional modelling is second nature.

  • Impact over output: you think about what the work changes, not just the code you ship.

  • Communication: you can take something genuinely complex and make it land, for a teammate or a non-technical client, without needing someone else to translate for you.

  • Track record: at least one role you stayed in long enough to deliver something real, and recent proof you keep learning, a new tool, a cert, an idea you ran with.

  • Nice to have: a real IT education and solid software-engineering foundations, functional and object-oriented programming. Data Vault, logistics or industrial data experience, and Dutch are pluses too.

Our application procedure

  1. Intro call: our recruiter gets to know your story, motivation, and experience, and explores whether there's a strong match with All Your BI.

  2. Deep Dive: you will meet with senior colleagues to assess actual competence through discussion of previous projects, problem-solving approach, and technical depth.

  1. Cultural Fit Interview: to explore if we match on values and behaviours and have a discussion more focused on collaboration style, consulting mindset, and team fit rather than technical evaluation.

  2. Leadership Interview: you speak with one or two founder members (the people holding AYBI's top-level anchor roles) about your ambitions, the roles you'd want to grow into, and long-term fit at All Your BI.

  3. Decision: after the final stage, our team reviews your application, we aim to decide within 5 working days, and we keep you posted the whole way.
