Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Business Systems Data Analyst to lead all aspects of data management within Tenancy Bond Services (TBS), and to use their expertise and knowledge to support the wider Tenancy Services Data work programme.

The position provides expert leadership on the design, definition, interpretation, and assurance of key performance, regulatory, and stewardship metrics, including those used internally by senior leaders and externally through public reporting on tenancy.govt.nz.

This includes ensuring reporting is aligned with business intent, legislative requirements, and agreed success measures, and provides reliable evidence base for decision making and accountability.

Stakeholder engagement and management across the public service is a vital part of this role.

Helping to mature the collection, reporting, governance and use of data to shape a data-driven future for one of Aotearoa’s most critical tenancy service and associated data set.
 

In this role you will:
 

• Lead all aspects of data management and stewardship for Tenancy Bond Data
• Provide management, performance and assurance reporting to the Manager Practice and Stewardship and senior leadership as part of wider Tenancy Services’ performance reporting and other ad hoc reporting that may be required
• Drive the development of business intelligence tools, dashboards and reporting frameworks
• Support the delivery of the Tenancy services
• Ensure quality assurance, accuracy and consistency across key datasets
• Translate business needs into technical solutions across platforms like SAP Business Objects, SAS EG-VA, Power BI and MSSQL
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other government agencies

Skills and Experience Required
 

• Proven experience in data analysis, business intelligence, assurance and reporting within a service delivery environment
• Experience in stakeholder relationships across the public sector
• Strong leadership and relationship management skills
• Expertise in tools, systems, and strategies for effective data governance
• Ability to understand how data flows through different systems and to use your technical skills ensure the correct data is available to be reported on.  
• A proactive, collaborative mindset and the ability to influence change through data
• Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
