More on Ashland’s Diagnostic Films business, products and end customers:

Ashland’s Diagnostic Films business develops and manufactures advanced radiochromic film technologies used in critical healthcare applications where precision and safety are paramount.

Its Gafchromic™ films are widely used in radiotherapy and radiology to provide fast, highly accurate measurement and visualization of radiation dose, supporting quality assurance of medical imaging and cancer treatment systems.

These films change colour when exposed to radiation, enabling clinicians to verify and optimize treatment delivery with high confidence and resolution. Complementing this, Rad‑Sure™ indicators provide simple, reliable visual confirmation that blood products have been correctly irradiated before transfusion which helps to prevent rare but potentially fatal complications such as transfusion-associated graft-versus-host disease. Together, these technologies play a critical role in ensuring patient safety, treatment accuracy, and regulatory compliance across healthcare systems, while offering strong differentiation through precision chemistry, ease of use, and trusted performance in clinical environments
