Senior Backend .NET Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for highly skilled Senior Backend .NET developers to join us working with our fleet management and telematics software development client working on their flagship One-TMS platform, contributing to the development of modern, scalable solutions within a complex transport and logistics environment. The role will involve designing, developing, and enhancing business-critical applications across a modern technology stack including Java 17–21 and Spring Boot. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will help deliver high-quality software solutions that support operational planning, execution, and shipment visibility across the transport lifecycle.

The successful candidates will possess a mature understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and demonstrate strong software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and scalable application architecture. You will be expected to contribute throughout the full development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design through to implementation, testing, deployment, and support. A strong appreciation for software quality is essential, with experience in unit testing, integration testing, and building maintainable, resilient applications within Agile delivery environments.

This role offers the opportunity to influence the future technical direction of a large-scale SaaS transformation programme, helping modernise legacy capabilities while delivering new platform functionality. Experience with C# .NET 9 and SQL technologies would be advantageous, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. We are looking for individuals who are proactive, technically curious, and comfortable working within evolving architectures where balancing innovation, operational stability, and long-term platform strategy is key.

Essential Key Skills and Responsibilities

You will:

· have strong commercial experience developing C# .NET applications along with good knowledge of modern standards and best practices

· have solid background in Microsoft SQL Server

· the ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions

· have good understanding of software architecture and design patterns

· have experience with version control systems, code reviews and integration tools

· have excellent communication skills

Desirable Skills/Knowledge/Experience

· Understanding of Agile methodologies

· Experience of Kubernetes, Kafka, Cursor, Azure, JEST or Playwright

Experience

· A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.

· Proven experience as a Software Engineer ideally with a focus on healthcare-related projects.

· Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.

· Experience with providing coaching and mentoring

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.

· Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.

· You are flexible and curious in your approach

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Additional information

Duration of the contract: initially 6 months – contract FTC (full-time)
