Role summary
We are expanding our engineering team in Brazil and are looking for a senior full-stack engineer with a strong backend focus who will take ownership of backend systems while working directly with clients.This role requires an engineer who combines system architecture, strong backend engineering, and a deep understanding of modern frontend capabilities. You will be working closely with our frontend team, expanding the backend team and helping shape backend engineering practices going forward.
This is a remote position, open to candidates located in Brazil, to work with all our global teams.
All communications and collaboration will be conducted in English.
About you
Core expectations- Strong sense of ownership and ability to take responsibility for systems end-to-end
- Ability to work directly with clients (professional English required)
- Senior full-stack engineer with strong backend focus
- Strong ecommerce experience and understanding of ecommerce flows and business processes
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and scalable systems
- Strong experience with in-memory databases and caching layers
- Good understanding of modern browser capabilities, including:
- IndexedDB
- Web Workers
- Frontend/backend interaction patterns
- Strong understanding of AI coding assistants, including:
- What they can and cannot do
- When they can safely accelerate development
- When engineering judgement must override them
