Meet Fetch Engineering:
At Fetch, engineering is driven by curiosity, ownership, and a bias toward action. We operate in complex problem spaces where the right answer is not always clear, and success depends on adaptability, critical thinking, and informed decision-making. Our engineers are comfortable navigating ambiguity, understanding tradeoffs, gathering context, and turning uncertainty into progress while maintaining high technical standards.
Engineers at Fetch take pride in building reliable, scalable systems that serve millions of users. You will contribute directly to the codebase, collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, and help shape best practices that elevate the quality of our work. We foster a culture of mentorship and collaboration, where engineers grow by learning from one another and holding a high bar for quality, reliability, and impact.
About the Role
We’re hiring an Android Engineer to join our mobile team, focused on enhancing the experience within our third-party rewards and shoppability domains. This critical part of the Fetch app helps millions of users browse and activate rewards from external partners, discover shoppable products tailored to their preferences, and plan purchases that reliably earn Fetch points through attribution. By making it easier for users to find and activate relevant offers, your work will help them engage with partners and maximize their rewards.
You’ll be working at the intersection of e-commerce, marketing technology, and attribution, building Android experiences that are fast, intuitive, and seamlessly integrated into the broader Fetch ecosystem.
You’ll be part of a cutting-edge Android team operating on a modern, 150+ module architecture built with the latest Android best practices. Our stack includes Kotlin 2.X, 95% Jetpack Compose UI, MVVM with Hilt for dependency injection, and tooling like Gradle convention plugins, KSP, and Room. We optimize build performance with remote caches and CI pipelines powered by Bitrise.
What You’ll Do
- Own and deliver Android features that power rewards discovery and shoppable content, from browsing and saving offers to linking purchases back to Fetch.
- Integrate with partner APIs and marketing tech systems, ensuring rewards attribution is accurate and reliable.
- Optimize shoppability flows for performance and ease of use, reducing friction from product discovery through to purchase planning.
- Collaborate with product and design to ensure users can quickly find and activate offers most relevant to them.
- Monitor and improve engagement metrics, helping the team track how features drive user adoption and rewards redemption.
- Work across backend, data, and marketing tech teams to bring new partner integrations and e-commerce capabilities into the app.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of hands-on experience developing and releasing Android applications.
- Strong command of Android fundamentals and modern tools/libraries (Kotlin, Jetpack, Coroutines, Compose).
- Demonstrated experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso, Compose Testing), with a focus on delivering reliable, maintainable code.
- Experience with dependency injection frameworks (Hilt, Dagger, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Room or equivalent local persistence solutions.
- Exposure to and ability to contribute to architecture, modularization, and component design in a large codebase.
- Demonstrated success working within cross-functional teams to ship impactful, user-focused features.
- Strong skills in debugging, profiling, and performance tuning.
- Effective communicator with experience aligning technical work with product goals.
- A collaborative mindset; experience working with team-based development is essential.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, proposing paths forward, and driving toward outcomes.
- An AI-forward mentality to explore and apply the latest tools that improve engineering efficiency.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience working in large, multi-module codebases with scalable architectures.
- Familiarity with build tooling (Gradle convention plugins, KSP) or contributing to CI/CD pipelines (Bitrise or similar).
- Background building mobile features in rewards, e-commerce, or marketing attribution domains.
- Familiarity with geospatial or mapping functionality in mobile apps.
- Generalist engineering experience, including backend or cross-platform development.
- Engagement in open-source ecosystems or collaborative development communities.
This is a full-time role available remotely in the United States or from one of our Fetch offices.
