Senior AI Engineer

We're now looking for a Senior AI Engineer to lead the way on a high-impact client engagement. If you thrive at the intersection of hands-on technical delivery and guiding teams toward new ways of working, this role is for you. 

What you'll do 

• Lead the technical direction of an AI-first software engagement, working directly with a leading enterprise client 

• Apply and champion AI-driven development practices (e.g. Spec-Driven Development, Agentic Swarm Coding) in real production environments 

• Work hands-on with modern AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, and emerging agentic tooling) — you build, not just advise 

• Guide and mentor a complementary engineering team, raising the bar on both technical quality and AI-first ways of working 

• Partner closely with client stakeholders, translating complex technical approaches into clear direction and measurable outcomes 

• Contribute to how Nortal redefines software development — not just deliver to a spe

What makes you a great fit 

• Strong software engineering background with architecture-level experience

• Proven, hands-on experience with AI-driven development 

• Track record of guiding and mentoring engineers in a senior or lead capacity 

• Comfortable navigating legacy modernisation challenges alongside greenfield AI initiatives 

• Excellent communication skills: you can bring a client team on a journey and make the complex feel clear 
• Fluency in Estonian and English

 Salary range 

• 4600–6500€ gross/month (full-time) 

Final compensation will depend on factors such as relevant experience, role seniority, and skill set.
