Job Role: Senior Accountant

Compensation range: $3,000 AUD - $4,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: An established Australian accounting and business advisory firm supporting individuals and businesses with accounting, taxation, bookkeeping, and financial advisory services. The company takes a client-focused approach, building long-term relationships and providing practical financial guidance to help clients manage and grow their businesses.

Role Overview: We are seeking a Senior Accountant with strong Australian accounting experience to join a growing accounting and advisory firm. The role will focus primarily on tax compliance and accounting work, with the opportunity to take on client communication and leadership responsibilities as the role develops.

The ideal candidate will be highly experienced, confident working independently, and able to deliver accurate, high-quality work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Manage and complete Australian tax compliance and accounting work.
• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and related compliance requirements.
• Ensure all work is accurate, complete, and delivered within deadlines.
• Handle client correspondence and assist with client queries when required.
• Work independently while maintaining a high standard of quality.
• Identify and resolve issues with minimal guidance.
• Support and mentor junior team members as the team grows.
• Take on potential team leadership responsibilities in the future.

Requirements

• 6+ years of Australian accounting experience.
• 10+ years of overall accounting experience.
• Strong background in Australian tax compliance.
• Solid understanding of Australian accounting and taxation practices.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with Australian clients is highly desirable.
• Leadership or team mentoring experience is an advantage.
