Department: Financial Coaching
Reports to: VP of Financial Coaching
Position type: Seasonal, remote

Coach the financially concerned into financially confident while creating clear sponsor ROI.
Turn tax-season confusion into confident member decisions by explaining complex tax topics in plain language that drives session completion and sponsor value.
Tax season is when many members feel most anxious about money, and it is often the moment they first reach out to MSA. The Seasonal Money Coach – Tax meets members in that moment with one-on-one coaching by phone and video, helping them understand their tax documents, filing requirements, deadlines, and how common tax rules apply to their own situation. The ideal coach brings deep individual tax experience and the ability to make complex topics feel manageable, so members leave each session calmer, better prepared, and more likely to come back to MSA for the rest of their financial life. Every confident, well-supported member strengthens the case sponsors make when they renew their partnership with MSA.
This is an educational coaching role, not a tax preparation role.
Seasonal Money Coaches do:
Provide education on individual tax topics
Explain tax concepts and options in plain language
Help members understand their tax documents and related information
Help members identify practical next steps and appropriate resources
Seasonal Money Coaches do not:

Complete tax forms on a member's behalf
Represent members before the IRS or state taxing authorities
Provide services outside the approved scope of the coaching program

Scope is consistently respected. Sessions stay within the program's educational scope, protecting members, MSA, and sponsors.
Tax season becomes an entry point to ongoing coaching. Members who first come in with a tax question see the value of MSA coaching and return for other financial goals.
